funny but xrays are definitely NOT completely harmless

you can always say no to an xray, if the doctor refuses to treat you without one, find another doctor

i've just ordered the 75mm diameter/200kg holding force option of this product... i figure i'll use that handy centre ring and put two of them face to face (i assume they have screws on either side so they can actually be paired like this - otherwise i guess i use the side loop to string them to a snugly fit paracord around my neck)

200kg pulling force is a pretty strong magnetic field, i'm pretty sure that metallic objects within 4-5" will jump straight to this thing and that is the hard strength part of the field, since fields decay by inverse square, it should exert a substantial deflection effect on x/gamma/cosmic and general RF waves that come near my head to the extent of my whole head, and reach down to shield my heart a little as well

if the earth's magnetism is getting weak, then wearing magnets is definitely gonna give some extra shielding against radiation... the whole reason why life exists on this planet is the magnetic field, without it, DNA

Very interesting. I've also been thinking about ways to get a bit more protection from radiation.

Latest bitcoin optech podcast is incredible

The no-soft-forks guys are finally bending the knee and admiting the stupidity of their position (some with less honesty than others)

Don't forget who told you that you couldn't have perfectly reasonable and safe soft forks like ctv. These idiots must be excluded from all future conversations.

The Poon Tradja paper does not use anything as ugly as segwit. They have a solution to maleability based on an op code irc

The rc shell has all the advantages (sane programing language with good design) of this new "language that compiles to sh" but doesn't need to bw compiled.

Plus you get all the plan9 user space tools that automatically make your scripts portable to any system where you can install plan9port (almost all, I even have it on android's termux).

You're quite right, of course.

What I was pointing out was that it would be trivial to fake by simply zapping yourself. So, the transaction can indeee be verified but it would be impossible to know if it represented a genuine zap (rather than a self zap).

Not really verifuable unless it's a burn (could be one entity sending onchain payments to itself).
