Damn, this is great. Thanks!
Was dying for this look kinda feedback man… it was intentional coz I thought they look completely different to human eye…but apparently only the last part is different?
Same. I’ve never reached the tip coz too many blocks to scan and it stops when you close the app screen 💀💀💀
Here’s a draft PR for Silent Payments how-it-works & UX exploration for nostr:npub13s5mxgws70rpxsug96jfvglggackjrxs2ehypwg0prjaxsek42sqd9l03e

Would love to know what nostr thinks about this 🧐 💡 💭
Instagram is EVIL… you palpably feel it’s insidious tentacles entering or leaving your brain 🐙
I hope Germany and all European countries shake off the American leash, especially because Nordstream saga shows American interests couldn’t care less about Europeans who I really like based in my limited interactions. Good luck 🤞
You probably know this but: US has army base(s?) and troops on the ground in Germany 🇩🇪 🤣💀
would you try divesting in the dollar with US troops sitting on your couch?
GM maybe this talk gets you excited about getting into ham radio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwp2miar83w
Cool, very cool actually 😎
I don’t have the knowledge to process or judge this video! I got that point about repeated txns being especially bad but the rest not really.
Oh thanks 👀
I just put together a browser-based tool for splitting and reassembling eCash for sending over the Meshtastic mesh network. It's super handy for breaking down large eCash tokens into smaller messages without losing track of the order. Each message is capped at 150 characters, making it perfect for mesh networks.
The Meshtastic app isn't great for copying message content at the moment so its a little hacky but its better than nothing I think.
🔹 eCash Text Splitter: Easily chop up your eCash into manageable chunks, each with a sequence number and a hash for verification.
🔹 eCash Text Reassembler: Put those chunks back together and check the hash to make sure everything's in order.
🌐 Check it out: https://ecash-text-splitter.netlify.app/
⚠️ Heads up:
- This hasn't been tested extensively yet. Make sure to back up your full eCash token before you start splitting it.
- Needs more thorough testing, so any feedback is appreciated!
GitHub repo is linked on the site if you want to dive into the code or contribute. Let's make eCash transactions easier! 🚀💸

Question:
- you say “the meshtastic app isn’t great for copying message content “. How so?
- your splitter tool asks me to paste my ecash into a text field. Isn’t that tantamount to giving away my ecash? (Sorry if this is ignorant)
I know you’ve heard of the petrodollar, but have you heard of the Rockstardollar?

the retrodollar 😉 nostr:npub1j8y6tcdfw3q3f3h794s6un0gyc5742s0k5h5s2yqj0r70cpklqeqjavrvg
The cryptographic proof might be that you couldn’t ‘find’ him/her on nostr 🤣 but maintaining totally disconnected identities is hard so many don’t bother.
This happens with all movements, not just apps. As they go mainstream, we have not just more noise, but the ethos is diluted, co-opted or forgotten.
Like right now, with the bitcoin2024 shitshow, we see what happens when normies arrive to the bitcoin movement: you forget cypherpunk, hard money roots and simp for politicians, Wall Street and “strategic reserve asset” crap.
This also happened to the feminist and gay movements in just the past decades…
I agree that silent payments is no silver bullet on privacy. I have thought about it a fair bit and my opinion is it’s a fantastic UX improvement that when used with smart coin selection (which it really helps), payjoin and coinjoin does improve privacy.
I think this is when I became a true Edmonton Oilers fan; what a song and what a montage this one.
Haha wat… you could use a hammer wrong and smash your fingers. Silent payments is actually a UX improvement that helps protecting your privacy easier.
I’m working on a UX exploration on silent payments. Would you be willing to review it and critique it?
