@bitcoin.design contributor focussed on bitcoin, privacy and security.

Was dying for this look kinda feedback man… it was intentional coz I thought they look completely different to human eye…but apparently only the last part is different?

Same. I’ve never reached the tip coz too many blocks to scan and it stops when you close the app screen 💀💀💀

Here’s a draft PR for Silent Payments how-it-works & UX exploration for nostr:npub13s5mxgws70rpxsug96jfvglggackjrxs2ehypwg0prjaxsek42sqd9l03e

(quick preview 🔎 > https://deploy-preview-1109--bitcoin-design-site.netlify.app/guide/how-it-works/silent-payments/ )

Would love to know what nostr thinks about this 🧐 💡 💭

I don’t have the knowledge to process or judge this video! I got that point about repeated txns being especially bad but the rest not really.

Question:

- you say “the meshtastic app isn’t great for copying message content “. How so?

- your splitter tool asks me to paste my ecash into a text field. Isn’t that tantamount to giving away my ecash? (Sorry if this is ignorant)

*What do you mean…what do you mean*

This happens with all movements, not just apps. As they go mainstream, we have not just more noise, but the ethos is diluted, co-opted or forgotten.

Like right now, with the bitcoin2024 shitshow, we see what happens when normies arrive to the bitcoin movement: you forget cypherpunk, hard money roots and simp for politicians, Wall Street and “strategic reserve asset” crap.

This also happened to the feminist and gay movements in just the past decades…

I agree that silent payments is no silver bullet on privacy. I have thought about it a fair bit and my opinion is it’s a fantastic UX improvement that when used with smart coin selection (which it really helps), payjoin and coinjoin does improve privacy.

I think this is when I became a true Edmonton Oilers fan; what a song and what a montage this one.

Haha wat… you could use a hammer wrong and smash your fingers. Silent payments is actually a UX improvement that helps protecting your privacy easier.

I’m working on a UX exploration on silent payments. Would you be willing to review it and critique it?
