There’s a free plan that has a quota that works well enough for me but requires a credit card (unfortunately) to verify uniqueness and prevent people from creating more than one API key. Doesn’t accept Bitcoin.
I have some ideas on how to implement thread muting in Damus. I’ll look into it tonight if no one else gets to it before me.
Despite 🚀 attacks and #war, #Bitcoin knowledge is spreading across #Ukraine ! Bitcoin Magazine Ukrainian team organized a meetup that was held in #Lviv! One of the most beautiful cities. We had over 90 attendees! Shot out to the Gleb Naumenko (host) for being a part of it and making it happen! And #[4] for your speech !

💙💛 Lviv is a beautiful city. Looking forward to revisiting soon.
We made it back to New York! But our bags didn’t make it through the connecting flight at Fort Lauderdale because they took an eternity to get the bags out for us at customs to recheck them back in. So they’ll deliver them to us at home.
Their seats are uncomfortable. Butt hurts after 30 minutes because their seats are paper thin — I don’t have this problem with any other airline. But it got us where we needed to go.
It’s going to be breathtaking.

Pura vida. Thank you, Costa Rica.
#Damus automatic translation of notes. #[1]
Only on nostr clients *that are open source and what it does with your private key is verified by you or someone else you trust*
Yeah, Amethyst downloads language packs from Google and translates offline. I believe it’s also opt-out and assumes that you understand the languages that your keyboards are in (on top of app and system level preferred languages), which I believe is a bit overly aggressive, an incorrect assumption, and appears to have made some users upset.
I think we can use the current translation providers in Damus to auto-translate live when the setting is enabled.
What problem are you looking to have solved?
There are some people who are multilingual and might want to post in multiple languages for the same message. Nothing is stopping them from doing that today. Either in a single thread or as separate top-level posts.
Might not be a bad idea. I think I want to avoid biasing against languages, though. If we’re auto-translating from one language, we should auto-translate from all of them. It should also be opt-in.
