If they can offer a seed recovery service, the seed must somehow be able to leave de HW wallet.

One of the mean reasons to have a HW wallet is that the seed can NEVER LEAVE THE DEVICE.

If you consider the fact the seed can leave the device is a safe feature is up to you... 🫣

ColdcardQ has some extra features:

- air-gapped (it’s safer)

- easier to type thanks to big keyboard

- easier, faster and safer to check balance/movement through sparrow wallet

- anti-fishing words to warn you if someone tried to fuck with it

- teleportation feature

- Bip85 (create “children” wallets from it)

And there are more! I haven’t even finished exploring all of them.

Bitbox02 is still amazing, love how small it is. But as you can see coldcardQ simply has way more features, couldn’t recommend it enough man

Can’t help you with Jade plus cause never used it, but bitbox02 was my first and it’s fantastic, super easy to use and so small! Then I upgraded to the holy grail of ColdcardQ and never looked back!

What support is needed for the Nano S ?

Electrum supports the Nano S perfect solution.

Why is an upgrade needed is the Nano S not safe ? 🤯

Do all new devices support seed backup by default ? (is the fact you need to enable ( do we still need to?) it, fine for you?)

So the HW can export the seed !

( they once claimed for older devices "the seed never leaves the device" 😇)

So many choices...

Like wallets that don't have a seed backup service...

I had a ledger nano s for years. Took advantage of the “upgradeledger” 10% off code and ordered the Coldcard mk 4. It was delivered today. I’m very happy with it so far
