10 years from now you will find this post and think "good ol' days"

"Normies" by definition will not understand things. That's normal and it's okay. We often get the democratic urge to make people understand, turn them to our side, and imagining how great it would be if... Best thing an individual like you and me can do is to continue being awesome when we can.
I was told that alien megastructures are a sign of advanced civilization π
No chance this will happen. Elon is going the opposite direction. He is building a walled garden - that is KYC all users, no bots and moderated by community notes.
I'm not at all surprised that authoritarian politicians would want features like this. From a technical perspective, though, I'm curious about how they would go about implementing them. Would they integrate backdoors into widely used apps with camera access, like WhatsApp? Or would they rely on exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities in operating systems?

isn't it a safe bet to assume that all those apps already have 0-day exploits?

this ilustrates that 1) conventional devices have backdoors built into them ready to be used. 2) in current society the state will get away with totalitarian practices without much resistance from the general public. 3) in general your political regime will do anything necessary to sustain itself
Would you please post all that stuff here? I would love to have this thing in my back pocket without having to go through that depressing process of collecting it myself.
Imagine a contemporary alternative to the term 'kosher' as a way to judge foods and cooking practices.
Instead of saying this or that is "good for you", we would have a more religiously loaded term, such that it can be passed through generations without a need to know the complicated reasons behind each rule. These days you need to go deep into some nutrition and lifestyle rabbit hole. Unless you want to get poisoned.
Probably that term would become outdated and corrupt over time but it would be better than nothing.

Are people here familar with Curtis Yarvin? Here he is suggesting that creating parallel societies is the best way to make a change, which I find quite inspiring. Nothing new, but worth a listen.
