There’s a lot of misinformation about this feature. It does not disable likes for other people. It just turns off likes for people who enable it. I don’t see why anyone would be upset about this.

I think this is a terrible idea. This would be essentially waving a "Bitcoiners only" flag to any newbies curious about joining. Not every Nostr user starts out a Bitcoiner. And if they feel they have to be to join they just won't join. This is like the anti-grownostr.

Should Non-OnlyZaps users should still be able to send likes to OnlyZaps users? I think this one struck a nerve which I kinda get. My reasoning was they wouldn’t be able to see it anyway so why provide the option, but people don’t seem to like having the right-to-like removed.

I blame #[0] for all the hours of sleep I'm going to lose to the nostr rabbithole this week.

For all the things he's been right about, he's so right about this.
