I'm the BTC tech guy in my IRL circles. Knowing what I know about me, that's kinda sad. I mean... I know what I know, but I know what I don't know too. They have no idea how far behind they are if they're looking to me.

Classical Liberalism wasn't the beginning of, "it's someone elses fault." It was however the acceptance, codification and reinforcement of it. From there the responsibilities for your failures were desiminated to the rest of us because the enlightment told us that we could fix you or prevent your failures with enlightenment.

What a tangled web we weave.

FREE ROMAN AND ROSS!!

This deserves you attention. Roman is most likely innocent of anything. This could damage Chananalysis' credibility and end the corrupt revolving door and contracts between the state and Chainanalysis. It's the first time their data has been challenged in federal court. Please consider donating at the links in the first comments. You can find your way to them from the podcasts too, so you don't have to trust me.

Discussing scaling, fees and security today. The discussion has turned more toward economics via sociology and psychology, incentives etc...

Isn't it nice to know that the mechanics of the money have been basically solved and now we can work on society, culture.... ourselves instead of gaming a rigged money system to survive. Further that solution makes us think more clearly about other things. I can think about how I act and how we will and/or should. If you want to eliminate fruitless things that are in the way of flourishing, BTC can do that on the money front. The rest of the stuff isn't about BTC. It's about living a better life, maturing into what we were meant to be.

We are building a better world!!

Its not about hero or sainthood or even admiration in any way.

Injustice with a horrific sentence, totally incomporable with any previous similar legal infraction. The judge literally said it was a political sentence, not for the crime but for what he believed.

Assange? Him too. Snowden? Same. We don't need to pick or focus on one, but it isn't wrong to do so.

The 'Publishers Clearinghouse' scammers in India called my dad Friday. Dad didn't fall for it but, I put on my lil' ole' lady voice and for two days, 5 phone calls and a total of about 3 hours on the phone, I kept him frustrated and running in circles trying to 'help' me pay my taxes on the prize money with gift cards. He was not happy Saturday night when I cut him loose with my real voice. 🤣

Thinking nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev 's series on drive chains.

The idea of trust entering the broader BTC monetary system means we should remember that every time we say 'trust' in this environment we mean 'a human'.

When we add a human we add an entity that can be regulated and probably will be along with any solution they offered to the system. To the 'little guy' this seems inevitable. We are humans, we need to trust each other to some extent. Thus we need trustworthy humans to place our trust in.

Sorry. But it seems inescapable unless you are a whale.

After listening to nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev talk about #drivechains recently, I think I agree with his perspective.

The concept of miners voting for other coins is antithetical to the basis of Bitcoin's consensus mechanism. Human action means backing up your beliefs by taking making a clear decision. Voting is fine for unimportant things because it's a flawed a manipulatable system.

Committing to one path or another is how real value is determined. Anything less is sitting the fence. I don't have the technical background on this topic, but these decisions should be based on first principles.

What do y'all think? Is there something that I'm missing or am I completely off base in my logic?

I thought, when nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev noted that each additional chain would require a soft fork, that eventually miners and side chains could guild togethere to make a political barrier to entry by guild protectionism. Possibility?

Having a get off my lawn kind of day. This always makes me smile on those days.
