I used to play with DD-WRT, Tomato and OpenWRT in different routers. All have their pros and cons. You need to have a router the firmware works with, you have to be comfortable flashing the router to overwrite stock firmware and you also need to be comfortable doing all of your own config within the router. Mess that up and it won't work or worse you've created a huge security problem for your home network.
Because you're now buying #bitcoin and can't reconcile your historical ESG statements about it?

Air quality looks fantastic! Great day to get some outdoor time.
Think Gensler, other SEC folks and their posse will spend the next month or two loading up on the bitcorns first? Other folks in DC appear to be skilled at the insider game.
Thanks Canada! First they give us Justin Beiber and now smoke.
Banning apps is nothing new for Apple:
2014: removes #Bitcoin wallets globally
2017: removes VPN apps from China App Store
2023: bans nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 in China App Store then globally
Apple’s playbook is clear — they’re anti-freedom.
Make your voice heard & push back.

Apple has welcomed millions into their walled garden ecosystem by luring them with flashy UX and product roll-outs. Within that ecosystem Apples acts like a dictatorial government - they make the rules, and every time there is a financial transaction they want a cut. Else you are banned.
Screw them, get CalyxOS or GrapheneOS.
My favorite is paper straws that come in a plastic wrapper.
Just make sure your phone and your cell provider support an esim and you don't need to go into a store or have a sim card shipped to you (giving away your identify).
nostr:npub1vwymuey3u7mf860ndrkw3r7dz30s0srg6tqmhtjzg7umtm6rn5eq2qzugd I'm listening to #747 and you said something about relying on Google for the Pixel phones. The Calyx and GraphineOS projects do a good job of removing Google software from the Pixel devices.
About a year ago I bought an old unlocked google pixel and installed CalyxOS on it. Frankly not the UX of an iphone but Apple is good at sucking you in to their ecosystem with the UX and then they have you, your Apple watch and all of your data for life.
I love that Apple no longer has my data. I also signed up for cell service using a nym so my real identity isn't tied to the phone; even if my provider can see texts (when I don't use Signal) nothing is tied to my identity. Throw in a solid VPN service that accepts bitcoin or other identity-less payments and you've taken huge steps towards reclaiming your privacy.
Agreed. Total larded up shitware.
I find it ironic that Bill Gates got so rich selling an OS that is vulnerable to viruses and malware and now he claims he is trying to save humanity from actual viruses. That wasn't on my clown world bingo card.
I switched to CalyxOS about a year ago. UX isn't as great as Apple's, but I've adjusted and in all honesty love the fact that Tim Cuck and his cronies at Apple no longer "own" my mobile life. Truth be told I was spending too much time on my phone anyway. Lower caliber UX has helped my relationship with my phone evolve to be more utilitarian. My phone is a tool not an extension of my being. Staring at our phones too much is part of what is wrong with society.
"Everyone Should Avoid Outdoors": 100 Million Americans Under Air Quality Alerts As Canadian Wildfire Smoke Blankets East Coast https://www.zerohedge.com/weather/everyone-should-avoid-outdoors-100-million-americans-under-air-quality-alerts-canadian
First Canada sends us Bieber and now polluted air. Can we send Bieber back?
I'm not progressive but this is a great interview with Peter, and Jason's trip to DC to try to orange pill progressive members of Congress and their staffers is a great cause - regardless of political affiliations, we are all on the pro-Bitcoin team. If you want to support the effort to orange pill progressive members of Congress, consider donating.
This is amazing - thank you, and thanks for the information and transparency.
On a related topic, does anyone know if the hundreds+ of awesome - and green - anecdotes like these are being documented in one source/repository? Having hundreds+ of these anecdotes available might be helpful the next time Elizabeth Warren or Greenpeace start yapping about how bad Bitcoin mining is for the environment. As one-offs each of these instances can be dismissed as nice little stories but dozens or hundreds of stories like this, altogether, create a powerful fact base to help fight the soundbites and misinformation.
One of the best ways I found to fund my ongoing stat stacking is to become a home repair do-it-yourselfer...small repairs and things like that around the house. Every time I save money by doing it myself I use what money I saved to buy more sats. Needed to replace a lawn sprinkler and saved about $250 not paying someone else to do it. Needed to replace a hinge on a garage door....saved about another $200 by not paying someone else to do what I could do. These are good skills to learn, this is a great confidence builder and I just "paid myself" by buying $450 in sats. Win-win!
Bitcoin donations are up and running on his website via opennode. Not a fan of the KYC info but legally required in the US for all political contributions.

I'm still waiting to see if I believe this guy is legit or if he is just another political poser, but he certainly has piqued my curiosity. I find the idea of a Kennedy / Tulsi Gabbard ticket interesting...
