It’s not even a matter of rudeness with children yet - they have to learn how to behave at the table. Phones and tablets aren’t a replacement for parenting or socialization. Parents have been silencing and distracting kids with phones and tablets rather than navigating discipline.
The simpler and more authentic the better. Mine was on a Thursday afternoon followed by dinner with family and there is nothing I regret except maybe being TOO casual and not getting my hair and makeup professionally done for the pictures (that you’ll be showing your kids and displaying in your home)! I’m a fan of backyard weddings.

I was able to hold out from getting an iPhone until 2019 (went from a Blackberry in 2010 to a simple flip) - when my children’s school required a specific app to receive communications. Even my car insurance company now requires use of their app to report an incident for roadside assistance. So many apps could be deleted as an experiment but in some cases you will be cut off from an organization/ company you need to access.
