How do you feel about abolishing the electoral college and electing the president by popular vote?

Dollars will always vote as long as there are politicians / regulators to be captured. Why this isn’t understood by everyone is beyond me.
Nobody should.
Sats should vote by being spend somewhere where you’re respected as a human being.

As there are good reasons for the electoral college in the US, why wouldn’t a person who is adding value to society not have more stake in deciding its faith than someone who doesn’t?
In essence I am wondering: How can democracies avoid getting captured by parasites who bribe a relatively unproductive majority, with the stolen resources from a highly productive minority, to get and stay in power to enrich themselves until all value has been extracted?
The answer to this question could prevent a lot of suffering and pain…
