I spent quite a bit of time on the apps, and I can tell you, from my experience, getting even so much as a match is a numbers game for us. Then, to get a reply, more numbers games. Carry a conversation? Good luck. Actually get to meet someone? More rare. I was lucky enough to meet one or two in person, one was a relationship that lasted almost a year. The amount of no responses was highly frustrating. The amount of stereotypical profiles was frustrating. The amount of “don’t just say hey, catch my attention!” In the profile that was otherwise the same as any other IE “probably just liked you for your dog” was sickening lol

At no point in history has that been the case. Families used to live together and the grandparents and aunts and all jumped in to help manage the household and the kids. It wasn’t just a single person doing it all. Honestly it’s an impossible task to ask one person to take care of a Child and everything needing managed in daily activities in a household, especially in the first several months post partum, which is the hardest and least talked about. If my sister wasn’t able to stay at my house and help I’d be quickly running out of money right now.

Aggravation of the day: color matched hardware looks good, but there’s always the chance you won’t be able to it again when you inevitably need another box of it. Case in point, I’ve spent yesterday afternoon and this morning hitting the hardware stores and scouring the internet for the fascia screws I’ve been using on the #HugeDeck, none to be found except one internet store in Indiana, and what they have isn’t even labeled the same as what we’ve been using, so it’s a roll of the dice to even order those. Good times.
