Good for you! I'm a synth lover, but technically not a synth player. I record with my piano and play with the midi on funny soft synths. I've been eyeing on my first actual synth, but at the same time been too busy with my firstborn. Please share whatever you come up with with your Theremin. I've never tried one!

This fugue was written for piano more than ten years ago. I took a day off university lectures to finish it and never regretted. Technically I guess it is a double fugue, and I took more liberties than my inner fugue purist would have cared to admit. Still, it is a fugue in three voices. Later I arranged it for synthesizers and was very pleased with it.

Currently I am working for something for a harp.

Zombie trope in horror movies emerged in the age of consumerism and it is possibly more famous now than ever. It speaks of a dread in the heart of today's man: my day routines and opinions are completely predictable. I go to work at nine and put on a mask of an organization. My interactions with colleagues and the cashier at the grocery store are totally scripted. I am looking at my phone in stead of playing with my children.

Through the movies a man is presented with the reality: we are already living a zombie apocalypse and I am one of the walking brain-dead.

I made this two years ago. It is called Alter Egoistic, a tribute to the insitutionalized man.

In general, my sense is that, with AI’fication, physical art will gain appreciation while digital art loses it: anybody, even bots, will be able to do arts digitally, there will be an overabundance (mayhaps there is already), and nobody will want to pay for it. So also to me it seems futile to try to fight in the global digital space.

Meanwhile, in the meatspace, actual musical performances can even become more and more valued (I would say they are a luxury). Oh well, all the best. Pro music is not an easy undertaking and never has been.

Computers overpowered humans in chess a long time ago, but still people are playing chess and watching other people play chess. We don’t want to see computers playing each other, creating perfect paintings, making flawless music. We want human frailty and imperfection. Think about professional athletics: it’s pointless, really. Any car could go faster than those runners in olympics. The audience just enjoys seeing commitment and sacrifice. The love and care that you put into your work draws more people than any objective flawlessness (potentially created by AI).

Live music, for sure, is not going anywhere. Hard to say where all of this is going, and how will current musicians manage (hell, most of them, myself included, are not sustaining themselves with music even now). And where AI will be incorporated, I don’t know. But no matter what, I think people have place in art, as art (both creation and enjoyment of) evolves from our social nature. I admire handcraft even if there are machines that could do neater work, not because of the end result, but because somebody actually sacrificed their time, health and youth into creating it.

I love to see another non Bitcoin/nostr post! I’m into dogs more than cats😬, but I like music, mostly piano, composition and lately some electronic projects
