Shouldn't nip05 be enough? Given a domain, the username should be unique on that domain. And /.well-known/nostr.json? should return the pubKey in hex format. What's the usecase?

Not self sovereign might cost you MORE money in the long run. You know with the third party risk rug pulls and whatnot :)

If you use umbrel NWC is easily installable and will be automatically connected to your LN node. I'm planning on preparing the same kind of package for nostdress. The difficulty of having docker composer is that the connection to your LN node might not be so straight forward as it is on umbrel.
