I try to update annually, but keep my ear to the ground for any major bug fixes that require an immediate update. Recently, updated my script that checks on the running status of the Bitcoin stack to report the running version.

#noStrudel v0.38.0 Is finally released. I've added and changed a ton of stuff and honestly should have released this as multiple smaller versions but I kept getting distracted.
Some of the notable changes:
- Support for nsecbunker and the new OAuth flow
- Added simple "Launchpad" view (most stuff will be added in the future)
- Restore scroll position when returning to the timeline
- Show unavailable events in threads
- Organized all the "other stuff" in a tools page
- Added support to cache events in local relays instead of the browsers cache

You could be right.
But the underlining principle should be Bitcoin is for the people by people. The further is strays from this principle the closer it gets to becoming like the system it is trying to replace.
I've been kicking the tires on Blockstream's Green wallet on a Linux desktop. Its very easy to install (appimage) and use.
The mobile version of the wallet supports Lightning, but on the desktop version it is not possible to create a Lightning wallet.
It is definitely a desktop wallet to consider using and it just needs to add in lightning wallets like the mobile version has.
