nostr:npub1qjrnqjusmvy883kcl3qvlrzy3ye2pdxj0zvhfcy7enqcgaksj04se0kgt0 Alas, with the cats in the house, it's not good luck for the crickets :-)
(Where in New Mexico? I've been to the Clayton Dino footprints, and stayed over in Raton, hoping to see the KT Boundary, but was stymied by snow)
nostr:npub15kg657ewj45w8396vga653jqepvfcje28v05gvsmthkjvkgnunesz22qyx Albuquerque now because I'm in a rehab-long term care facility recovering from a long period of illness. Mostly lived in Santa Fe (13 years) and then Truth Or Consequences!
nostr:npub1qjrnqjusmvy883kcl3qvlrzy3ye2pdxj0zvhfcy7enqcgaksj04se0kgt0 Thanks! Words are fun. :)
I didn't coin this one though; it's a hashtag that I've carried over from Instagram. A couple of podcasters started it, and there was a book with the same title.
nostr:npub1tuzcx9wlkr0wfqma40as9enrycl90wenqmwvl8pc78jfxc620kssh5rwxq I love words too! I have Dictionary.com on my phone and get word of the day from there. I especially love reading the word origin section. Reminds me yet again that we are all part of one big huge human family, evolving over the eons. π
nostr:npub1qjrnqjusmvy883kcl3qvlrzy3ye2pdxj0zvhfcy7enqcgaksj04se0kgt0 wow! Thatβs such a beautiful pattern, and such a thoughtful idea.
I really like the yarn theyβve used as well.
The lacier patterns arenβt generally my style (for now), but patterns like this make me reconsider :P

Maybe a lace with a less traditional lace look? Like the one @Lavisch used on her just-launched #PsychedelicaKAL shawl pattern (which I'm making).
This reads more like a texture. And people seem to like to riff on it. Check out these interpretations...

nostr:npub1qjrnqjusmvy883kcl3qvlrzy3ye2pdxj0zvhfcy7enqcgaksj04se0kgt0 So much respect you're actually weighing it π I just try to eyeball it which is why I usually buy at least 2 skeins more than it says I'll need.
nostr:npub1qzrn9tq685r83e8vfjd5g2fkxyznce0rt4j48y656jyum07shnaqu34nh0 PS Weighing is new to me, was inspired by others here on Mastodon who do that. Interesting new way to look at WIP progress. Always something new in knitting!

nostr:npub1qzrn9tq685r83e8vfjd5g2fkxyznce0rt4j48y656jyum07shnaqu34nh0 Wow 2 skeins! I have a one extra skein policy. I'm impressed!
nostr:npub1qjrnqjusmvy883kcl3qvlrzy3ye2pdxj0zvhfcy7enqcgaksj04se0kgt0 Are all the rows the same number of stitches, or are you increasing as you go? You may need to account for that in your calculations.
nostr:npub14vmhxtaea33r5xka0h2auyrvq9gtaty0e7k2jsjyu7dtdkxfx5gqnzyayx Just 4 stitch increase every other row, so it takes a while to even show up on the scale. It "looks" like I have enough. Looking back, I'm understanding now why I've always had a "buy an extra skein for each yarn in same color and dye lot" policy. I detest yarn chicken!
nostr:npub15kg657ewj45w8396vga653jqepvfcje28v05gvsmthkjvkgnunesz22qyx Where I live (New Mexico), a cricket living in the house is considered good luck!

Okey dokey, Knitterati ~ Another tweak to Susanne's fun design, #PsychedelicaKAL...
Kept to her striped approach through crazy section but changed color from coral to mustard. Then, back to coral for final solid portion, throwing in some mustard stripes.
Enjoying how these colors look side by side, w/out white. Also liking weight of denser fabric at base of shawl - feels quite stabilizing to a slinky knit. Fun!

101 grams now 79 grams of coral after 6 rows equals 3.6 grams per row, 7.2 per back-forth stripe so if I do 4 stripes of coral between 5 stripes of mustard 7.2 times 8 or 4 rows equals 28.8 grams leaving 50.2 grams which would net out 6.9 rows including garter border IDK!
Gosh I'm rusty at math! Every time I get to the end of knitter math I have a brain seize-up, for reals. Lordy.

#knitting advice needed!
I have some yarn and want to make a sweater. I'm very new to knitting so looking for something simple.
What sort of stitch pattern is this? Would it be easy-ish? (Cables terrify me and I'm still working on my tension for purling - this pattern is worked flat I believe.)
Image snip is from the Ravelry page for the pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/perfect-stranger-2

nostr:npub12466auc9ju672rzj0zw8tkzcmjj5wfzwzcsjq576tp4sa2pq985sjqgj47 It doesn't look that hard but it's all relative - what kinds of things have you knit before?
nostr:npub1j0csupzhtm7pz3h67tku4xwva0x5tnjd9d5xdlyy0azfxnqm7q3qrc9dn8 Well you have to have n intact stitch or stitches to work off of, so I'd find those first, and then recreate those missing stitches. Maybe use a separate strand for each row? I don't really know much of anything about repairs, other than you need to anchor somewhere. Good luck, how'd that happen BTW? Looks like something my dog would have done!
