Don't open an hotspot on your laptop, don't connect your #iPhone with it and don't look at the network traffic while you're interacting with your iPhone. You have been warned.

Yes. And I still have my cucked SpyPhone for my KYC-life, but it's completely slave tech. Walled gardens have no future.

I am running a LND node for four years and had just one force-close which was initiated automatically by the remote side for inexplicable reasons. The mempool fees where low back then and there were no HTLCs to be settled (expect for the closing tx itself) so I didn't really lose a significant amount of sats. But I indeed know people who had a lot of force-closes within a short period of time. It can be painful if this happens in a high fee environment. It gets even worse when there are lots of HTLCs to be settled (thus I limited the maximum amount of pending HTLCs to 5). But overall my LND node runs pretty reliably.

It took me several attempts until I could establish the connection (the connection request in nsec.app simply did not appear), but it has now worked and the app is now listed. Thanks for the quick fix.

It’s not only a matter of capacity. To receive 100k within your 150k-channel you need an inbound liquidity of 100k sats.

Let’s say you have opened the channel, then you will start with 150k outbound liquidity and zero inbound liquidity and thus won’t be able to receive a single sat at the beginning.

For your channel partner the opposite will be true. He won’t be able to send anything, but receive an amount up to 150k (not exactly 150k because of minimum channel reserves but that’s another topic).

Your channel liquidity (inbound/outbound) will shift over time depending on your interactions.

I have recorded it for you (iPhone 12 mini, iOS 18.3). I created a fresh nsec within nsec.app and on this video you can see the successful connection to Olas app but the app won’t show up in the list. https://video.nostr.build/2dc7fa9e2b9c5ff23339dc000b69a68cd715080eb29a363800e367e90b18cf84.mp4

nostr:npub1xdtducdnjerex88gkg2qk2atsdlqsyxqaag4h05jmcpyspqt30wscmntxy nsec.app became very unreliable recently and behaves very strangely. it is barely usable. why doesn’t nsec.app work anymore with services like habla.news or npub.cash? i tested it with my main nsec and with test nsecs. i tested it on iOS (18.3) and on Android (15, CalyxOS). It used to work great on both devices. Now the issues persist on both devices / OSes. And sometimes the entry under the “Connected Apps” section disappears although I managed to successfully log in (on Olas for example where it works, though not without dealing with a lot of other hassles).

You know... If I didn't know that your photos are taken in Venezuela I would think that you are living in wonderland. It astonishes me to see how people can be happy and relatively live a normal life in a country with such a fucked up economy, frequent electricity outages and which on top is lead by a quasi dictator.

Now that’s really some scary shit you’ve posted there. I wish you had somehow captured it. Have you considered consulting Citizen Lab or maybe can you leverage your own expertise to figure out what is going on?

Just here and there. So far I haven't been able to find out what exactly causes this problem.

After leaving Amethyst I always have to force stop it afterwards to prevent videos from constantly playing in the background.
