Daily drawing day 218: Playtime break.

Mixing watercolour with soft pastels again, painting the base and smudging the pastels on top.

Starting with blobs of colour I don’t always know how will they turn into characters, so it’s kind of a surprise when they appear.

Me too! 😆 I wanted it to look lively and it did turn out like it could be a story

Daily drawing day 216. I enjoyed drawing this so much! And the daily work paid off: I got the balance right. How?

I managed to combine water colour with soft pastel in the way that feels natural, I managed to keep the colour palette well toned, and I managed to balance multiple characters and give them expressions that make sense.

You might not notice these details but I’m really pleased with the outcome.
