My little VW is finally falling apart. For the third time a window has jumped the track and is inside the door. Both rocker panels rusting. I've known it was about done but Spring in Maine is not the season for drafty driving.

So I have been used car shopping and it is draining my will to live.

I've always hated it but the prices are now actually insane. $8-10,000 for cars that have 100,000 and more miles on them is bat-crap crazy.

Not looking forward to driving over an hour, one way, to New Hampshire today. Hopefully their little cars aren't rust buckets and I can bring one home.

It's a small, family run lot so maybe I'll try to talk them into taking BTC instead of fiat ... 🤔

Spring muck storm commencing here in the northeast USA. What is referred to as a Wintry Mix. This means slush is falling from the sky.

So I'm not going anywhere today. The plan is for maximum kitchen-time. Seeing a lot of doom and gloom about Nostr. It seems like some were expected an unending influx of users.

But that's not how humans work. Once they have found a thing and gotten comfy with it, it takes an awful lot to make them choose to use a new thing. Nostr is not even a new SM site but a whole new and foreign way of doing SM. Few people want to risk looking foolish or dumb figuring out The New so they stick with what they know.

I'm okay with Nostr not growing too quickly. Maybe spaces made to draw in 'everyone' is a mistake.

Anyway, I get to review arrest videos at work today. Wish I could share details because honestly, smart and capable people do not quite understand how out of control dumb people's lives can get. Just wildly and terribly out of control. Because they're dumb and make poor choices.

Due to not really being awake yet and the identical appearance of supplement bottles, I may have just taken two Valerian Root capsules instead of two Ginseng Complex capsules. Guess I'll know for sure if I fall asleep at my desk later.

Nothing about yesterday went as planned, as usual. Instead I got a workout clearing the in-laws driveway of debris as they mosey their way back up from Florida. Electric leaf blower is a lot quieter and lighter than the gas but the batteries don't last more than twenty minutes. I enjoy doing yard work more when my arms don't get worn out before the job's done.

Hopefully today I am able to tackle housework and catch up on computer tasks during breaks. If you suddenly get a bunch of zaps, I figured it out. Know there was a lot of swearing that went into that zap.

Don't forget to do something future you will be grateful you started (free old lady advice of the day). Especially if it's something that's been on the to-do list for an embarrassingly long time.☺️ 🙃

Today's Pantry Moneysaver DIY.

Schmaltz. 😋 It's the best cooking grease for pan-frying eggs and fowl, IMO, but it is pricey.

I don't add the onion and it stays good in the fridge for ages.

Chicken thighs with skin are cheap, easiest to skin before cooking, and so full of yummy fat. Duck is really nice for this too. I keep a bag of bits in the freezer until it's time to make a new batch.

Sun's out and the kitchen is hopping.

Making bone broth, a batch of yogurt, and a bunch of meat snacks for the fridge. Stew beef chunks and meat balls this week. 😊

Very exciting stuff, as usual. 😅
