I just hosted the 22nd Western Mass Bitcoin Meetup and here are some things I've learned.
1. Most importantly is consistency. Pick a frequency (most are monthly) and stick to it.
2. Meet your members where they are at in terms of their Bitcoin knowledge. If you are speaking to a group try to answer questions or make points that are technically correct but can be simple enough for new people to understand.
3. Meetup dot com sucks, but it seems to be where almost all the Bitcoin meetups are listed. But definitely check out nostr:npub1ve8qwrlztemdmnh62jffcr0y9m9dpqgqjdg8ufx7gc3qw5wdk74qyv9ka6 for finding local bitcoiners.
4. Be Bitcoin only, but don't be toxic. There is enough toxicity online and very few will come back or continue listening to you about Bitcoin if you aren't polite. It's possible to be firm without being toxic.

It's a meme, a slogan intended to get votes. I do not have any faith in any politician to tangibly improve the lives of US citizens using Bitcoin.
It is, however, good to see the Overton window shift to where presidential candidates are taking about Bitcoin as part of our energy security. It'd be interesting to have all the MAGA people pour into Bitcoin.

If you think about nostr as the future of the Internet, I'd argue that connecting the payment infrastructure (zaps) into the fabric of all future communication is more important for the adoption and expansion of nostr than for Bitcoin.
Bitcoin would be fine without zaps.
Holy fucking shit, at a staff meeting this morning and someone just went on a 5 minute rant about how covid is still out there and no one is taking it seriously anymore and how scared he is about getting it even after a battery of vaccinations.
I did not realize that we still had people this messed up from all that. Stay safe from the crazies frens. 🫂
