“Go to another gas station.”

I used to come to Chuy’s all the time but don’t come here much these days. See this limited time appetizer which sounded GOOD. Sadly they don’t have any right now for some reason. Womp womp. https://nostrcheck.me/media/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/a0400539b9da9fdcff2077966de59d6cd19d2ac1b94770708263257a84e92d6c.webp

It’s a real “Sophie’s Choice” trying to choose between “rock and a hard place” and “Scylla and Charybdis.” 😁

(This is a lie. I’m totally a “Scylla and Charybdis” guy.)

Just because YOU don’t know a word, doesn’t mean “Nobody knows that word!”

For anyone trying out Threads AND Bluesky (and Mastodon), I really dig Openvibe which can post to all of them as well as read BS and Mastodon. The Threads API is still new so right now it can only post but it will eventually be fully integrated as well.

3rd day in a row coming to Rosen’s Bagel Co. Today I had I one bagel, then sat in my car scrolling and listening to a podcast then went back for a second bagel. There is no Heath, only bagel.

Shoutout to anyone past, present, or future who worked a job while also going to college because that sounds absolutely insane to me.

Walked outside tonight and had a little shiver. WOOT! Will I actually need my duvet tonight instead of just my top sheet? HERE'S HOPING! (Stupid Texas weather.)

My personal coping mechanism (YMMV): I have to zoom in to the micro right now. This week. Today. This moment. The present. It’s all I can do. I can’t look to the future. I can’t waste time and energy worrying and fearing the unknown future. Emergency protocol mode. Zoom at 1000x.

Austin, TX! BY POPULAR DEMAND! A 2nd The Eggmen farewell show on Sunday 11/17 at 5:30pm!

Our Saturday show sold out and many people were bummed so El Mercado graciously offered to do a Sunday early gig! Get your tickets NOW!

I’ll have to gig with them to really put them to the test. I’ll bet not all that different but I just want large and thick, with a little warmth to take the edge off.

Got some cool new picks from Timber Tones specifically for use with my bass where I like bigger, thicker picks that aren’t as crisp as I like on guitar. https://nostrcheck.me/media/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/40dbc0db86bf44eb2cea0d312a7a7e6e95e06d39dc1a40b467c71b846b5ebbc4.webp

On my way home I passed a Discount Tire and remembered I haven’t had a rotation in too long. And they weren’t busy at all. He told me November and December tend to be slow months so it’s a good time to take care of your tires!

Related: I really need to find an app or something to track car maintenance. I get oil changes every 5000 but everything else can easily get away from me. Time flies!

It occurs to me that “blocks“ is such a strange and ambiguous measurement. “There’s a store a couple of blocks over.“ That can be quite a wide range of distances. At least in my mind and how I think of it ”blocks.”

Greg Koch is a mind-blowingly effortless virtuoso on guitar. I pretty much only know him from YouTube demo videos. While I am totally a Line 6 Helix guy, if I were a more conventional pedals-into-an-amp guy, his “Koch Ness Monster Supreme” from Jam pedals would be all I’d ever need. Very cool unit.

I’m so suggestable. Ever since seeing someone’s post yesterday about having an everything bagel with cream cheese, it’s all I’ve wanted. So here I am at Rosen’s Bagel Co. first thing today to scratch that itch.

“Dig A Pony” is an underrated guitar solo by George. It’s so weird to learn because how original it is in its composition. Simple, soulful, but with many really interesting choices outside a typical solo pattern.

MY weekly VR group played "Escape Simulator" tonight. VR Escape room levels. Pretty cool!
