The kinton (sweet sweet potato paste) and red and white pickled vegetables are already complete. The black beans will be ready once they're cooked. The nisime (simmered root vegetables) is the most difficult part. Each ingredient needs to be prepared separately and then seasoned to create a complete dish...

The kids were up early as expected. They were very happy with the Pokemon plastic models and card games they had requested. They'll play with them when they get home from school.
Santa Claus' work at our house is finished. Tomorrow morning, the kids will be visiting the living room early without me having to wake them up 🎁
