A company can’t own the protocol, platform, and interface all in one. The protocol layer must be free.

Be direct please, I don’t appreciate passive aggression

The situation that the Jewish people are in, including some bitcoiners that I respect, has been on my mind lately.

No doubt I’ll comment on it more, but for now I wanted to offer my deep sympathy in the form of sharing an anthem I grew up with, “The Flemish Lion”. Both in this song and in the recent personal updates I see determination and fierce courage in the face of gruesome brutality. I keep re-reading in particular verse IV.

Here goes the translation:

Collateral is such a straightforward yet nearly perfect movie. Hard to believe it’s almost 20 years old now.

Nostr is very very cool…but…we’re a long way from normies wanting an unfiltered, decentralised social network which doesn’t have all their favourite famous peeps.

Bitcoiners will naturally have a love for Nostr because it fits with their worldview and understanding.

Like educating the benefits of Bitcoin, Nostr will have the same challenges. Zaps, nPubs etc… won’t mean much to most people.

Imagine being #[1] and convincing the world you are a saint when you are literally what they are up against. Until you sell your stake in twitter and go full BTC you’re still just another trump or Elon

The "observations" actually line up even better if you say "white privilege". Zoom out. 8 billion people, and the small fraction that control access to money printer are pretty much all white.

Doesn't seem like a joke. Not something I think about at all until others bring if up. Though given being of Jewish descent in the first half of the 20th century had a mortality rate matching climbing, it behooves me to take even jokes seriously.

My grandmother barely escaped Germany before the Nazis had control... the ship's captain actually refused an order to search the ship just before the departure (don't forget, the Holocaust was state theft of funds in order to fund war, the anti-Semitism was just convenient rhetoric for robbery of citizens). So I have the genes of the group that decided to be overly cautious. 🤷‍♂️
