JS nerds and webmasters old enough to remember Animorphs might appreciate pulling up the source. Very "Dynamic HTML" vibes, especially on the Bitcoin widget. I made sure to not use any modern HTML5 or CSS tags, to make it more authentic.

Damus feels ‘cleaner’ with OnlyZaps turned on. You see only the important engagement to a note. I think I can get used to it. The only thing I’ll miss about the like feature is I used it to acknowledge someone’s reply that didn’t warrant a reply by me

Years of Bitcoin Twitter being the main app where discussing Bitcoin happens recently has had effects on the community. It rewards short-hot extreme takes. The more extreme, the better. This causes the most engagement, which causes the algorithm to reward you but is it good for the community?

Also, I am in my second tweet. This is because I am a nym, and nyms have a character limit, as did everyone for most of Twitter's history. Concepts that required more nuance than 280 characters allowed simply were stripped down to a all-or-nothing version of the argument. (Any change to Bitcoin is an attack on Bitcoin.) BitcoinTalk, or even.. Redd.. well at least BitcoinTalk had much higher level conversations.

I really think the Bitcoin community spending years communicating primarily over Twitter is the main culprit in the cartoonish version of the Bitcoin maximalist.

To keep on getting picked up by the algorithm, you have to be more and more extreme than the rest of the crowd.

How can you display any nuance in 280 characters?

You can't. You can write a metaphor. You can quote someone else's tweet and dunk on them.

Nostr will reward real content creators with the world's best money.

Twitter rewarded shitposters with followers.
