Made it to the Liminal Village (after a short city trip to Ravenna on the way). #solarpunktravel

Last evening in Austria 🇦🇹

Waking up with a nice view 👌

And now already in Italy 🇮🇹

Off we go for a two-week trip across France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy to go meet different commons and eco-villages.

Curious to learn more about how other communities manage their commons!

👴🏻 We live in a world where our elders have to learn AI and our youngsters want to become life coaches 🤷‍♀️

We got this upside down 🙃

We need our elders to be life coaches and mediators. They have so much more lived experiences. They have more time and are more patient.

🤖 And we need our youngsters to embrace AI and explore what else is possible. They have much less to unlearn. They are more likely to discover new opportunities.

That’s why we need multigenerational communities.

It takes a village.

Patches on my tubes didn’t like the heat. Two new tubes and unexpected bike repair to start the week.

It can be frustrating to not feel supported by the community when we do something.

Ask yourself: would I do this if nobody would join me?

If the answer is no, don’t do it.

The community cannot be the driving force. That’s your job.

People will join once they see something happening that they want to be part of.

Same here. I’d just argue that it’s the combination of software (yang) and socialware (yin) that will bring about a new civilization. Easy to forget about the latter when we are behind our keyboards.

New business model for X: extortion.

An inactive account is squatting your username?

X will release it for for $10k + $1k/month 🤯

With AI, you need to replace your SEO team with a documentation team.

Great opportunity for journalists and other people who love writing.

So many people marching in Brussels for Palestine 🇵🇸

This has a feeling of the marches against the war in Iraq in 2003 back when Colin Powell shared fabricated lies about their weapons of mass destruction program.

Like the US then, Israel is the wrong side of history.

Fellow Israeli friends, you are smart educated people. Dare to speak up against your own government. You deserve better.

A family business has a much longer time horizon than startups. It is also much more resilient.

That’s exactly what we need now.

We are going back to family businesses.

Except this time, you get to choose your family.

Getting your nsec compromised shouldn’t make you lose all your followers.

We need to decouple private keys and identity. Private keys should never leave the device that generated them.

Anyone working on the equivalent of a SAFE multisig for Nostr?

I know about Frostr. Is anyone using it? Any other explorations?

Always fun to bring a community together IRL.

Innovation happens at the intersection of multiple disciplines. That’s why we are building a common for all those various communities.

Heroku is down for more than 12 hours.

With that, I moved openletter.earth (a side project that people keep on using) to its own instance on Hetzner.

Next step: move it to a Nostr backend to remove the need for a central server altogether.
