The govt is afraid of the general population having access to AI, so they argue to wall it off, install gatekeepers, & build in surveillance and controls for only "approved" AI tools.

But the govt SHOULD be afraid of the people. The last thing I want is the govt having access to the most advanced AI tools, which they will - and already are - using to learn how to kill and control people more effectively, while they squeal about even allowing neutered & "safe" options for everyone else. That's a recipe for tyranny.

What we need is a massive step toward *removing* the power imbalance between the people and govt, and AI is going to be a major part of that.

It's very likely that in the not-too-distant future there will be entire multi-thousand user communities online that are all just a giant group of fake personas, arguments, ideas, conversations et al - all generated by Ai. There will be debate videos, selfies, deep thoughts, statuses, porn, all of it artificial.

A complete social hierarchy that is entirely fake.

All designed to entice users to enter and explore, think they are talking to, agreeing and disagreeing with, a group of real people, until they are scammed or maybe just endlessly trapped in a fake world.

A honeypot as an entire ecosystem.

Catfishing not as a fake person, but an entire fake world.

I’m a little late to the party but I found myself thinking about this prompt for the last day. Because I hardly ever bail on a book and for some reason there are a number of books I don’t start liking until halfway through or further even. I had this one book I thought I didn’t like almost til the end and then I had to buy the sequel. I like moving beyond my own judgment.
