What changed? I usually just scroll global an amithist, the posts are fairly predictable and generic, not so much today. It's not just bot follows, there are a lot more "celebrity" type acconts in the global conversations

Ya, that's a tough one. I see much of this type online, not so much in the real world. There are always outliers, throwing up your hands and blocking is probably for the best online and off.

That and to probably stoke egos. Makes people engage more, drive metrics

If we have to articulate them outside of the gray mater, they may not make as much sense though

The longer the arch the better, slow and steady will win the race. The longer it is allowed to build its community out side of the eye the better they will have to fight twice as hard to corrupt it.

They are building a silo around the most profitable users. They will be bound to the platform buy sunk costs both culturally and economically, well beyond their relevance. It may take longer, because he's capturing the most elite, but eventually it will go the way of CNN and the other networks. It's like a tax farm with fees and it will suffer the same cycles as any other corporation

The world takes all kinds, and for these new protocols to succeed they must as well. How these new communities deal with these issues will start to define them and their success.
