not really, we have many devs trying many things and sharing or copying what works, nostrs dev model is one of the things to its incredible success and fast progress, and that dev model is allowed because of the protocol design which anyone can change
on nostr what works you see adopted across multiple clients, the protocol is not fixed and no central authority controls it, for what didnt work you would have to investigate that, ask #[5] etc
nostrs dev model is moving so fast and new ideas are appearing and being proven to work or not fast

you are thinking in fedi terms we dont really need special relays unless you really really want to preserve certain events, and even then a client can do that

yep many people here never took to the others, listen to #[5] talk about using mastodon and i completely agree with him on it
i imagine communities will run their own relays
the tools for communities havent been deved well yet, we dont have reddit style apps yet
as they arrive, there is bitcoin mainly and libertarians
on nostr you will basically only end up talking to people that are willing to talk with you, so many groups will isolate here with some crossover
