Well, as long as he doesn't put the blame on you for not warning him about fiat shit hitting the fan sooner
Maybe for a beginner level intro to a subject, sure. But as you gain expertise, they start becoming useless.
It's upto us to make our noob friends aware of the tradeoffs
And yep, Zeus does have Cashu as well
Checked out the interface. Feels fast. Cool that they added a tab with ways for people to spend sats as well.
Haven't tried transacting with it though
Ah yeah I saw that tweet. They also responded in a later reply that they're testing spark as well
This friend must have really pissed you off 😂
There's a certain kick that people get when they think they've predicted the future
I think it can get to your head and stop you from taking real risks, especially when you do these predictions without any skin in the game
Would go with 'eeg-drasil'
Spark, Ark, Greenlight, Liquid and ecash seem to be in a spectrum of trust tradeoffs when it comes to custody. Various wallets are leaning into one of these to make it simpler and easier for users to use Lightning.
I like what Zeus, Alby and Blixt are doing, which is none of the above. Closest to pure self-custody, but with a little bit of a learning curve.
Ah man, I've been meaning to check out Shock wallet for a while now
Will get to it soon!
So many Lightning wallet models out there to keep track of
•Alby's paid cloud hosting with an option to fully self-host
•Zeus/Blixt Embedded neutrino node with options to choose LSPs
•Phoenix's one-channel, one-LSP with splicing
•Breez SDK + Spark/Liquid/Greenlight
•Aqua/Bull On-chain + Liquid + atomic swaps
•Spark integration - Blitz, Wallet of Satoshi, maybe Blue wallet
•Ark integration - maybe Blue wallet
•Lightning with submarine swaps - Muun
•Ecash mints for custodying connected by lightning for inter-mint transfers - Fedi, Cashu
•Fully custodial - Blink, Strike
Bluewallet is working on integrating Ark and/or Spark

If you'd like to speed up nostr:nprofile1qqsrf5h4ya83jk8u6t9jgc76h6kalz3plp9vusjpm2ygqgalqhxgp9gpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kytcpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uv45qez wallet's startup, I recommend turning off Express Graph Sync on startup (how performant your phone is will also determine startup speeds).
However, you can manually make the wallet do the sync and reset the graph when you're making payments to increase success probability.
You'll find these settings at Embedded Node > Express Graph Sync
The first option is to turn auto EGS at startup on and off.
The second option is to do it manually.
This is for people who want to open the wallet for other things than lightning payments like fetching wallet history, checking balance, managing channels, making on-chain payments, etc. but don't want to wait for long every single time.
No need to advocate for transparency from government if everything is privatised and govt has no data to share
No need to advocate for privacy if there are no taxes that require financial monitoring and no IP laws that give companies the ability to create walled gardens that prevent users from switching easily
No need to advocate for free speech if property rights are strong enough that anyone can purchase spectrum and equipment, provide internet services and create media platforms or enable others to do the same
Big IF's
Or are they?

BOLT12 x Rust Lightning
'An initial version of async payments is now supported. The current implementation is specific to LDK and only LDK supports paying static invoices. However, because BOLT 12 invoice requests will gracefully "upgrade" to a non-static invoice when the recipient comes online, offers backed by static invoices are expected to be payable by any BOLT 12 payer.'

Have recently been trying out modal clothing. It's pretty good!
If you're a merchant adoption nerd, there's a live stream on Nostr right now with someone tagging Square merchants on BTC Map
On social media's supposed problem of 'corporate control'
Two possible alternatives to the status quo:
•People who do not like it voluntarily exit from them and attempt at building alternatives by deploying their time, labour, capital, energy and money - Nostr, Secure Scuttlebutt, Bluesky, Mastadon, Nostr, Rumble, Truth Social, Pear by Holepunch, Pubky.
•The state takes over the corporations and the means of producing the platforms, intervenes into the social media market and decides how big a platform can get before being broken up, and sets up a license and permit system where people need to ask permission before building a platform or a protocol on the internet.
The spirit of these choices applies to any given industry which faces similar problems.
