nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5's implementation of NWC is the best I've seen it done so far. Extensive customisation of each connection.

Was concerned about connecting my embedded LND to it.

Then I realised there's Cashu. The wallet has an explicit option to restrict NWC connections to your Cashu wallet alone.

You can make a connection to your embedded node yes

Alternatively you can connect to your cashu wallet in Zeus as well

Zeus' implementation of NWC is very good

Wishlist as an LN user/enthusiast:

•Splicing on all implementations

•Async payments

•Rough consensus on standards for LN wallet recovery

•Bolt12 everywhere, especially on Nostr

•Good compatibility between LNURL and Bolt12 if or when the latter gets widely adopted

•LN Symmetry

•Ark, Spark, Liquid, Cashu and Fedi wallets integrating themselves into the network and making payments to and from self-custodial LN users as smooth as possible

•More wallets competing with Phoenix with the same business model to bring rates down

•More wallets competing with Zeus and Blixt

•More swap providers competing with Boltz to bring rates down

•A bigger marketplace of LSP's competing with each other to provide inbound liquidity to bring rates down

And when people lose confidence in democracy, they'll present the idea of a 'republic'

Where a piece of paper is used to wipe all the shit and over the course of a few decades, everything in it becomes filled with shit stains as a result

Tbh I think they're going to double down on them further because it's giving them more views

I've been avoiding the shows which are using these clickbaits though. I don't feel like they'll be worth my time.

After which they'll package it in a spending bill and send it to everyone for free.

You now have more shit 'for free' and a contingent of people voting for more of it and another justifying it with models and statistics.

Lightning isn't the same as it used to be. They'll come around to it as the network and the apps on top of it get better, which they are.

It'll win over the skeptics among Bitcoiners first.

And then it will do the same for shitcoiners.

From the outside, it looks like some regions/states/cities would be fine. Bitcoiners are growing in number and the tools that can help them live on a bitcoin standard are getting better too. I also think being a part of a local Bitcoin community is as important as using bitcoin as money.

Video streams need a lot of work too.

And my listening progress doesn't get synced to web, so I can't simply switch devices just like that.

NWC and the ability to zap with an external wallet would be great too.

nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 has gotten a lot better. I can see myself shifting all my Bitcoin podcast listening activity to Fountain very soon, if they keep improving.

'Lightning Self-Custody Works: Why Mobile Nodes Are the Future of Bitcoin' from Voltage:

Certain Bitcoin folks do quite well to address Bitcoin's real shortcomings in a constructive and productive manner by building and engineering solutions.

Shitcoiners just give up and start shilling shitcoins as the solution to everything.

But the thing about responsibility is it has to be a choice. It can never be forced.

It's not possible to make someone responsible by force imo.

You'll never believe just how prone people are to blame others for their retarded decisions.

They'll ape into Bitcoin at ATH instead of DCA'ing like we told them to and get mad at us when the price dips

You're forgetting that we're Indian snake charmers
