Itās really not that hard:
1. Your seed phrase is a random number unguessable by any computer in your lifespan.
2. As long as you donāt give that seed phrase to anyone your money can never be taken no matter what anyone says.
3. (More nuanced) if you store that random number in a hardware wallet and someone canāt access it physically 1+2 provides you the greatest property rights any human has ever known.
