Zeum.space , I think does give artists a different way to display their work like a walkable gallery.

It is different than the site u mentioned and it's early days, but would love to continue to get feedback from the artist community!

I believe in a few but still legitimate positions of authority. Their authority flow from and they are responsible to the ultimate authority, who is God. I'd say a father has a similar although much broader kind of natural authority.

Functionally, I'd say governments should administer justice because ppl avenging themselves can lead to escalations of violence and some victims are too weak to avenge themselves.

It's been a while since I've checked on nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft's highlighter. It's really cool to pull up this acct, nostr:npub1j4ukddjkwguyt4kk8ugzw9fq8ct69pj7lcnsty2qqsr7ut20u6mshfllhh, and see the app basically turn into a bible reader complete with room for highlights and comments 😄

Maybe; it's hard to say. But, I don't think it should just be up to me as the victim. Essentially, I think this kind of justice should be administered by an authority. It shouldn't be up to the victims to decide or execute justice for themselves.

https://biblehub.com/esv/romans/13.htm

This is a good point. Restitution should be used more, and prisons don't make sense. But, what about violent crimes? If someone kills or rapes a loved one, I think the victims naturally and rightly desire retributive not just restorative justice.

Yes; I just see it as a necessity for life on earth. When ppl are wronged they need justice.

The only service a government provides is coercion. That is it. Nothing else.

Governments don’t build roads. They use coercion to extort money from peaceful people and give some of that money to individuals to build roads.

Governments don’t provide security. They use coercion to extort money from peaceful people and give some of that money to individuals with guns to “protect” you.

Governments don’t provide education. They use coercion to extort money from peaceful people and give some of that money to individuals that force children to be educated.

Everything that government does requires coercion. Government provides no value. It is a middleman that doesn’t care about your wellbeing. It will always function inefficiently because it keeps a portion of the money it has extorted for itself. The services it extorts you to pay for are always inferior and more expensive than what the free market can provide. And because the government is not accountable to anyone for anything, people have no recourse when injured by the government.

When you go to a business for a product or service, you peacefully agree for an exchange of value. When you go to a government, you are requesting the only service the government provides: coercion. You are asking the government to use coercion to extort money from peaceful people to do what you want. No matter how you frame it or sugarcoat it. Asking the government for anything, no matter how “moral” it seems to be, is no different than asking a mafia to make sure your neighbor wears a mask.

If you believe that humanity needs government, then you are simply a violent individual that has outsourced the acts of coercion to a 3rd party. You are a statist that wants just the right amount of violence to function without getting your hands dirty.

I mostly agree, except for executing justice on behalf of victims. Governments exist to do violence for the sake of justice.

Any ppl in #gamedev that have used the #godot engine? I want your help testing compatibility with #crashglow !!

Pls and thank you 🙏

It was amazing to talk to Nostriches and builders at BitBlockBoom last weekend. Got a major pep talk and motivation boost from nostr:npub1qlk0nqupxmlyxravg0aqscxmcc4q4tq898z6x003rykwwh3npj0syvyayc nostr:npub1xk50nsp89sge5cs0glq9tjxm885lsp077xez6zm6g2ccjdga4enqnkmr0f nostr:npub1arkn0xxxll4llgy9qxkrncn3vc4l69s0dz8ef3zadykcwe7ax3dqrrh43w nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 nostr:npub136jg2fnty2z5vwcnh7p4jpckrs3tk0dpueftgs7mznuuaenjpfps6tjnxf and others to keep laser-focused on building Comingle. I’ve dragged my feet long enough with it. I ran out of gas after introducing the NIP-52 calendar spec and implementing NIP-52 in Nostr SDK for Apple Platforms, but I’m back now. I started integrating those building blocks into Comingle iOS and it feels great. My goal is to launch the Comingle conference app with a real integration to the NIP-52 calendar spec, in time for the Nostriga and Baltic Honeybadger Bitcoin conferences in Riga, Latvia this coming August. 🫡
