No killer features, per se. But the ability to so easily change font size, contrast, etc all in one go, at any time is quite nice.

My cheapy Chinese e-reader's default app didn't allow for much of that.

I just started using it and enjoy it thus far.

The only complaint thus far is that the app doesn't automatically display my book list by most recently read books. It may have that capability, but I haven't figured that out yet.

Good point. During my limited time there, I did observe a lot of toots about gender identity, leftist politics, and the like. It was rather disappointing as I had initially joined to connect with folks about education, digital privacy, and other topics. The ratio between these leaned far too much in favor of the former though.

Thankfully, Nostr seems to fix this with a far more interesting and engaging group of people.

But why? I thought their whole shtick was federating and connecting with others outside of centralized platforms.

Sleep deprivation is one of the unhealthiest issues many educators face. It's not just about the lack of exercise, cafeteria food, and limited sunlight, though each of those contribute as well.

Many teachers and support staff spend countless hours every week, often late into the night, early mornings, or even during school holidays, grading papers, creating lessons, catching up on the mountains of paperwork assigned by head office, or brainstorming how to differentiate lessons for their neurodivergent and special needs students.

Modern education shouldn't treat educators this way, but we're often given the ultimatum to work non-stop or quit.
