At a recent wine conference, I was talking to some friends who own a winery. I know they own a little Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptos, so I asked them what they thought about the dystopian future painted by one of the speakers.

The speaker, in his 60s, was pretty pessimistic. My friends blamed his outlook on generational theory. I asked if they’d read The Fourth Turning, and surprisingly, they had!

I told them how optimistic I was for the future—after a big crash, of course. I explained that to succeed through the hard times ahead, you only need to denominate your life in something scarce.

I was obviously referring to Bitcoin. But they took it to mean wine.

"It's great," they said. "Wine just goes up in value over time." When I brought up Bitcoin, they looked at me like I was crazy.

Sure, wine does go up in value over time. And if you age red wine for 2 years before selling it, you can definitely outperform Bitcoin's 44% CAGR. But here’s the problem: unless you’re an insanely sought-after producer, wine is losing value at an incredible rate in Bitcoin terms after that. Wine aging does not out-pace Bitcoin.

These next few years present a simple test that most will fail. What are you going to use as a denominator for your life's work. If your answer isn't Bitcoin, you'll lose.

Going to these wine conferences is frustrating. There are all these amazing winemakers running incredible businesses, yet they’re missing this one simple fact.

Meanwhile, I’m going to out compete all of them—not because I have more training, employees, or resources, but because I chose the right denominator.

Bitcoin is the key.

The character is immature and doesn’t realize this. She uses it inappropriately.

I tried to order Grubhub tonight after two attempts but they cancelled for no reason.

Because decades in the future, I do think someone who is impatient will look around and be like, "this is kind of retarded."

Somewhere there is a noob to Bitcoin that also is a shareholder of a company that has significant cash reserves.

The Bitcoin noob DCA’s in with some random Chunky Soup buys on dips. The cash flush company continues to breed confidence that Bitcoin is not the move as their cash and assets grow. The unknowing shareholders continue the circle jerk of how great the CEO is and how great their decisions are as a capital allocator.

Two years pass and the new Bitcoiner that’s also the shareholder wonders why the Bitcoin decision was an exponentially better capital allocation decision than the CEO has made. The noob arrives at the conclusion that we’ve all done. Ego is blinding and the ego death will be as ugly as it is inevitable.

Bitcoin may go to zero but if it doesn’t, the new capital allocators take over. And a new unrecognizable World takes over.

The new capital allocators were forged from building the resolve founded in truth and work. This is a foreign feeling to the World but an immediately recognizable as positive. The old capital allocators will struggle to understand why they receive no more shareholder confidence in their decisions. Fiat sand is all they’ve ever known and the only source of confidence.

It will be Biblical.

Killing the fiat lies for Capital Allocation is enough to start an American Renaissance on its own.

Throw in AI and other technological advances that we already see and the next phase of our lives is going to feel like a rocket ship
