Nostr Web Client

Google's new open source LLM that is supposedly very good for coding and math tasks. I'm running it on my MacBook and it's incredibly quick due to it's relatively small size (there is a 2B and a 7B model available).

So far I found Google's (free-tier) Gemini to make more mistakes during coding than (paid) GPT. Rumors are that Google's paid Gemini model is incredibly large and good and has a context window size of 10M tokens (40 times of GPT 4?) but this is just what I've heard, I've never had access to it.

Nevertheless, it's always good to start with running your own LLM, and this seems like an accessible model to do so because of, you know, this little thing called dystopia.

Just starting out on local models myself. Found Claude and GPT to be far more consistent than Gemini. Giving autogen studio a whirl this week.

The only way to make it attractive would be to accept everything to begin with otherwise what would the incentive be to join. Unless starlink is the only net in town at that point.

Today's society has it's incentives inverted due to the suffocating nature of centralised capital creation and misallocation. Bitcoin restores incentives and rewards the creators, builders and users who will reinvest in the future much more efficiently.

I just had a conversation with my wife about how negative and awful most of the internet and social media have become. Interactions are driven toward conflict and cruelty, or are just people stroking their own egos and vanity. It’s happening with kids and adults alike, and in fact a lot of the behavior exhibited by adults is just another form of playground bullying and high school popularity contests.

But somehow, in this free and open place where nobody can be censored or banned, we’re not just nicer to each other, but we celebrate each others’ differences. Sure, we poke fun and troll, but we do it out of love, not malice. We also make fun of ourselves, because, let’s face it, none of us are as dumb as all of us. Is it perfect? Nope. But it’s what we need most right now, and it could not have come along at a better time.

It’s a beautiful mess, and it works.

The high school analogy is so true. There is always a golden time where early adopters enjoy each others company for a while, this is where real value is created and the best relationships are developed. Im so pleased Nostr exists as an alternative to group think platforms.
