I just started using Amethyst. I can see how to zap people, but how do you watch all the zaps going on? People keep talking about that but I can't figure out what site/app they're using
That's a tough one... I got my first spam reply "thank me later" on Nostr today. I can see the value of paid relays and I'm considering running a one-time-fee relay myself.
In principle I'd be willing to pay a fee per post (maybe around 10 sats?) but in practice I wonder whether I'd find myself thinking twice about replying to people or posting in general. Not because it's expensive but because ANY fee puts in place a psychological barrier...
Well you can already be reasonably anonymous on here so I reckon people would have more than one profile and just "show off" on their alter ego
I just got a zap from you (🧡 thanks) and I use WoS so it's at least partially working
So... I had Nostream working, stopped it and restarted it only to encounter file permissions issues with the postgres stuff in the /data/ folder.
No issues on GitHub about that... Gonna try clean and restart but rather confused.
Not my thing, but I guess there could be relays dedicated to it then it's your choice whether to use them.
I'm trying to quit but it still has its use for nice interest groups and long-form content.
If you can recommend an alternative I'm all ears!
I managed to set up two local businesses with BTCPay / LNPOS but neither of them kept it long-term because they didn't like the volatility. They just want GBP into their tills/the bank. They can't afford to hold long-term and they don't want the hassle of conversion short term 😟
Yeah, it's great. Hopefully the positivity will stay as the network grows. I'm still getting to grips with Nostr in terms of finding people to follow and curating my feed. Very optimistic though!

I've never smoked but I hear it's a hard addiction to beat. There's always something people could do better in their lives.
That said it's always good to have an incentive (think long term) to quit if you smoke 🤗
