Yea that could work as well, I’m no dev so I probably shouldn’t recommend solutions when I barely understand how this works but it seems to me that there needs to be an expense to spamming that’s not just, you get banned or throttled like other platforms… I’m not sure how it could work here but I assume since people can reward posts with zaps you could also incorporate that to something like a different feed where either the profiles that have a high zap percentage per post or posts that have a high zap percentage per reply or something like that get shown more in that zapped feed. that would at least reduce the amount of Chinese porn bot accounts you currently see on the global feed but could allow you to discover new accounts you don’t already follow 😂… I also have no idea what I’m talking about so big grain of salt here lol

Could also be a good way to cut through spam which will eventually show up… adding some sort of cost to start a thread could be a good way to make spamming expensive if you could sort between zapped threads and non zapped threads

That’s fair, I guess regardless of algorithm you’re still getting shit shoved down your throat by a 3rd party… I will say it’s been nice to stumble through here and interact with people organically… it felt like when I started out on twitter I was yelling into the void and nobody ever responded. It seems there is some level of throttling to new accounts there that absolutely doesn’t happen here. It’s nice to actually be able to talk to people. I suppose here people will eventually figure out how to make algos of some kind that you could opt into and out of which changes the game completely.
In the end it always comes down to who’s willing to pay more to get what they want like it always has been 🤷♂️
