Overlay is probably not the best term, but something piggybacking on it. The overlay graph would stand out, but not the individual social graph nodes within the overlay.
So I have been thinking lately, and I'm pretty confident at this point that a relatively private overlay protocol can be done on top of Nostr for people in dangerous situations. It would not be cleanly interoperable with conventional users.

o.O thats not an answer, and the scheme would require at least two colors chemically consistent enough to have the same x-ray profile to have a solid background with text overlays in a different color not show any differentiation between the two in terms of xray opacity.
what type of chemical differences between different hues exist that would have an impact of ink density printed on paper. I.e. yellow vs. blue vs. black. I'm trying to figure out the practicality of printed information in solid blocks of background color with a distinguishing color for text on top so that the text would not be distinguishable from the background color under an xray.
If anyone has any kind of experience or resources regarding different chemical compositions of printer inks, would appreciate a brain to pick.
The idea is give both sides a financial incentive. If the researcher does good research without fraud, after a time period they can claim money that goes directly into their own pocket. People who can prove fraud instead at any time can prove that to the federated escrow to claim the funds instead. Researchers have an incentive to be honest, and reviewers have an incentive to find fraud.
I wonder what effect federated bonds would have in the world of scientific research. Bond some portion of research grants and timelock them. Path A, researcher can claim funds after timelock. Path B, funds can be claimed by oracles and paid out to anyone proving research fraud.
What is the answer to the increasing tribalism and desire to simply reinforce biases? Circulating truthful information is an important piece of the answer, but people need to be willing to absorb it.
