Follower of Christ. Defender of liberty. Aspiring cypherpunk. Atypical homesteader. Nostr only, mostly because I had already dropped everything else as a toxic mess. You can send me a private DM via SimpleX: https://simplex.chat/contact#/?v=1-2&smp=smp%3A%2F%2FUkMFNAXLXeAAe0beCa4w6X_zp18PwxSaSjY17BKUGXQ%3D%40smp12.simplex.im%2F7_b1iX90gPiMa7K8NEUNNc8d2hLoy78K%23%2F%3Fv%3D1-2%26dh%3DMCowBQYDK2VuAyEAITsikJr0WDbvgphFlM90xs3QAIZiVKYf35cIqy3PZhk%253D%26srv%3Die42b5weq7zdkghocs3mgxdjeuycheeqqmksntj57rmejagmg4eor5yd.onion

Thanks! I use Amethyst on my Graphene phone and will toggle it on and try it

I’m also experimenting with Nostr over a computer using Tails so am looking for browser based or other suitable options if they exist

Just found out nostr:npub1sn0rtcjcf543gj4wsg7fa59s700d5ztys5ctj0g69g2x6802npjqhjjtws.social has a #TOR .onion option. What are other clients or best practices that someone should know about using #Nostr over tor (or TailsOS)?

Yes! I attempted to use Qubes last year. I struggled a bit but I want to give it another attempt as it does seem to be the best. Because of how it works it takes a bit more RAM/processing power so I probably need a little better system for my next attempt

#NotAPowerUser 😅

#TailsOS is surprisingly user friendly. It’s easy to flash to a USB stick and have a secure ‘computer’ that you can take anywhere.

Expiring eCash? 🤢

Nothing lasts forever but I hope there’s a fail-safe mechanism where funds would be returned rather than deleted or seized.

I periodically get burned by expiring credits or “loyalty rewards” and it is really frustrating

That’s cool! And the tiny duck is a great addition 😁

I dare say that your time/energy/attention is more scarce than even Bitcoin and unlike any other asset it cannot directly be saved for later. Every one of us gets our limited hours as them come one at a time. Use them wisely!

I know a guy who knows a guy who knows Kevin Bacon

There’s some slick stuff out there but I still greatly appreciate bare bones, 1990s style HTML websites. Focuses on the content but also loads super fast with tiny data usage and lessens attack surfaces.

Besides the challenge, what would be the advantage to having a PW manager or 2FA manager on Nostr? It seems like those would be better to be non-networked?

I guess you could use vaultwarden and publish the database file via a relay to sync between devices?

What’s more deleterious:

A lie that almost only you believe

A lie that half the population believes

A lie that almost everyone believes
