This is what I've been using lately and it just clicks with everyone regardless of income.

Governments have 4 ways to generate revenues. They can Tax you, Borrow the money (if state or provincial to federal level or if on federal level to other countries), they can print "Money" and last is straight up rob you at gun point.

Each year the federal government (example Canada 🇨🇦) creates a budget for healthcare 🏥, police 🚔, military 🪖, etc.

The federal government goes to Bank of Canada (which is a privately owned business owned by the federal government unless the USA 🇺🇸) and receives a loan from the Bank of Canada and pays for the services. The government uses your tax dollars to pay off the loan.

But wait what happens when government feels the need to paint rainbows on police cars and funnel money to Ukraine. Well like I mentioned before the government has 4 choices.

They can straight up show up to your house with guns and take it.

They can raise peoples taxes.. but if we raise it to high people will leave.. so can't do that.

Canada could go begging for foreign loans with Canadian assets as collateral like a lot of 3rd world countries but ultimately leads to the next thing..

Or we can just devalue our currency and print more money..

If inflation is at 2% per year for 35 years. You lost half your purchasing power.

Now compare that to a open source protocol (like HTML or WWW./HTTP) that is decentralized and not controllable by one single person.
