The NHS isn't free - you're just paying for it upfront.
The problem is it's not judged on performance. It gets funded simply for existing. With no real P&L accountability, inefficiencies only get worse since there's no real incentive to fix them.
I'd love for it to work, I really would - it would make life so much simpler. But the reality is that it just leads to inefficiencies. We see that in the outrageously long wait times, lack of communication between employees and the focus on short-term fixes over real long-term solutions.
So to answer directly: yes. I'm paying anyway, I'd rather just pay what it costs when I need it and let the market compete for a better service.
Any Brit that says they’re proud of the NHS is either delusional, stupid or a politician.
Accountability is an indicator of progress
Is it just me or are bitcoin influencers increasingly obsessed with click bait over the truth….
I get they want attention but it feels like it’s doing more damage than good.
I guess influencers aren’t paid on being right, just on the views they get.
Democrats are having issues right now because they stand for nothing. They’re the party of virtue signalling and that’s getting exposed.
Republicans, love them or hate them, can tell you what they want and they go out to achieve that.
Similar stuff in the UK, but it’s taken to the extreme. No party stands for anything. It’s just a system of virtue signalling propped up by people who virtue signal. Only after the people change will the politics.
Is it time to admit that no one actually gives a fuck about climate change?
Just accept it's another performance to make it seem like you're a good person and move on.
Unpopular Opinion: The internet is meant to be an echo chamber.
As long as we all abide by the principles of Life, Liberty and Property, I really can't be bothered interacting with people who are vastly different. I'm happy in my echo chamber, speaking to like minded people, trying to figure out how to live a meaningful life.
Gradually, then suddenly. There is no stopping this train.

Very true but I feel that’s just something we tell each other as bitcoiners but doesn’t actually do anything to entice people in.
Issue I’ve found when orange pilling is that no one has a clue what freedom actually means. They believe they’re free already.
The only thing I’ve found to work is asking them questions and getting them to discover for themselves what the issue is and guiding them through how to solve it. Only after that I tell them that solution exists and is Bitcoin. That seems to work every time but takes time.
Bitcoin has a marketing problem. Digital gold is so good because it’s simple and gets to the point but ordinary people don’t hold gold…
