No, he does not. He dictates most of their financial decisions. She just listens to him because she's unable to consider a better, more beneficial, alternative. He's the reason why their family is living so bloody comfortably. The sole reason why he doesn't listen to her when it comes to financial matters.

"If they had to raise taxes to pay for all that spending people would riot."

You're still misunderstanding. As long as the US dollar keeps losing value as the global reserve currency, they will continue to raise taxes (which they just prosoposed to do so today). And people are beginning to riot! In the UK, people are beginning to become outraged about issues such as Sunak's conscription plan, the rise in living costs, bad public education and a handful of other matters. The US is not exempt from the outcomes of these problems. Just observe how high the unemployment rate has become in the US. The UK is no different.

The entire BRICS compact means that waging these conflicts will, in turn, become more costly for countries who are in opposition of them and less costly for the those which are allied. So, if living costs become more expensive for UK and US citizens, it means that domestic conflicts are more likely to escalate. If that happens, than it would be far less beneficial for the UK to allie with the US.

You aren't fully comprehending what I'm saying. Yes, that is not how they funded wars in the past. It's irrelevance is subjective, but you're still ignoring how cheap drone warfare can be. I've witnessed all of this firsthand. Why do think the Iraq War lasted so bloody long?

It's cheap for the state, but not for us. They could just keep raising taxes and have us pay for their wars. It's a very easy fix. Inflation isn't real! It's a purely conceptual matter. They've just convinced you and everyone else that it actually means something. Inflation has been going up, but the value of my BTC holdings has skyrocketed. What does that tell you? Who would we be paying debt to? Printing more money to pay off national debt would just lead to more Inflation! It would solve nothing!

You missed a vital and inherent element of modern day warfare. Drone warfare has made global conflict too easy and cheap to wage. Therefore, it's not all too difficult to wage a large-scale conflict over an extended period of time.

Yea, they don't know how to manage the stress of it all. My friend agrees with me on almost everything that I mentioned. He's tried to convince her on occasion, as well. It's quite disappointing. Seems completely mental to think in such a manner because I don't think they can fully comprehend the repercussions that such a great level of ignorance will have in the future, and they don't wish to feel like fools by admitting so. Forgot to mention that my mate and his wife already have two kids and are workin' on having a third. 😅🤷‍♂️

I need to be frank about this, but I see a significant amount of this happy-go-lucky naivety from nostr users as well. Lol. They're just always saying the same thing every day: "GM nostriches!" and "GN nostriches!" and "Bitcoin fixes this!" and "To the moon!"

This doesn't bore you folk after a while 😅😏?

“more dangerous and challenging than it has been in decades… There’s China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. These things aren’t just happening far away, they impact us here at home.”

For any other parents who are living in the UK, keep in mind that infrastructural decline can—depending on the speed at which geopolitical tensions continue to escalate and the rate of attrition in our nation's natural resources—take nearly a decade, or possibly longer. Our nation and it's leaders, most certainly, do not possess significant enough resources or economic competency to grant our children the humble lives that so very much deserve. Or, at least, they are undoubtedbly not willing to share with us these resources that I speak of. If this war truly does continue to last and spread to various European and Western nations for the next 5-10+ years, many of our children will be eligible for Mr. Sunak's proposed plan for conscription.

That being said, everyone should start their own garden and begin stockpiling long lasting foods and water. And perhaps compose a backup plan which includes leaving the country. I currently reside in London. I, for one, have already spoken to my cousin and his wife in Switzerland about, potentially, moving in with them.

"This is a great country but generations of young people have not had the opportunities or experience they deserve and there are forces trying to divide our society in this increasingly uncertain world."

The hypocrisy of this statement—which was spoken by our most trusted PM—is truly remarkable. Speaking of "opportunities or experiences" that he wishes to give our young'uns while simultaneously forcing them into active service into a military which exists solely to serve a government that many of them openly (and rightfully) despise. Do not fall for their false sympathy and don't let our children suffer the consequences. No one should have to forcefully experience the horrors of war.

Lol. Alright, I'm finished. 😅🫂

My mate (a fellow hodler) and his wife (a total NPC) were over my house a few days ago and we were discussing the current market conditions, Sunak's plans for military conscription, the Russia-Ukraine and Palestine-Israel conflicts among other more enjoyable things. Didn't want to ruin our night 😅. Lol. Sorry, but I'm not in the mood to explain all of this again. In short, she just showed a complete lack of interest in all of those things I just listed and everything in the note below 🤷‍♂️.

I finally hit an average of 4.0mph on the circuit (~2.75mi) that I walk. Geez. It took a while, but, I did it. I even beat the rain.

I've found I like walking after dinner. This also has the knock on effect that I'm less lazy than if I just eat dinner (usually my only meal of the day), and that's been making life a bit more pleasant since I am up and cleaving, reading, writing, or even just watching the sunset.

Next stage is to start doing the walk carrying weight. I recently bought a Durston Kakwa 55L ultralight hiking pack. I've yet to hike with it. I'm going to pack it with my normal stuff and start doing my circuit with that plus 3L of water. (I'm large and tend to need more water than most, so I prefer to carry 3L plus filtration when I'm hiking.

This is all in preparation for my second attempt at summiting Mt. Katadin in August. Last year I attempted it on a whim with no prep whatsoever since a friend of mine was starting a SOBO (south bound) through-hike of the Appalachian Trail, and I gave him a ride to Maine. I got convinced by him and others that I should give it a shot. That was the hardest thing I've done, physically, in a decade. I was almost immobile for three days and sore for a week after. I didn't summit. I got about 2/3 the way up and broke treeline. I was running out of water and wouldn't have made it to the summit with what I had or had enough daylight left to make it down before dusk. There were over a dozen people who finished their attempts well after dark. That's kind of nuts, but, you gotta do what you gotta do since nearly no one was hiking up with a full pack. (Everyone was slack packing to the summit.) My friend and one of his buddies made it.

Truth be told, I'm not sure I'll make it even though I'm on track to be nearly 60lbs lighter and in better shape. But, I am still going to attempt it because that's what I decided to do last year. So, screw it. I'm a do it. I'm not competing with anyone but myself and I'd rather not give in to my fear. I've done too much of that the last half of my life. I'm kinda tired of letting my laziness get the best of doing hard, but worthwhile, things.

I'm happy for you. And I've hit something of an epiphany, as well.

Is it actual bitcoin you receive or is it just based on price correlation, where it's only possible to receive fiat profit?

Either way, it's still great for marketing. 🤷‍♂️

Apologies. I feel a touch guilty for my initial statement. I should've asked for prior context. 🫂 I do hope you find some sort of effective treatment for that though. Unfortunately, based off of my knowledge, there isn't any one available, atm.

A bit chilly and cloudy. Lol. Shouldn't be a surprise. 🤷‍♂️

I'll let ya know how it is. 👍

You, too! Have fun in Prague! 🥳🌞

Why, hello! And top o' the mornin'! 👋☀️

Just wanted to let ya know that I ordered my own copy of the Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine.

Anyway, gotta finish cooking breakfast for the little one and I! Be seein' ya! 😎

It basically means that the US is at a tactical and practical disadvantage when it comes to the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, and Israel and Palestine. Oil supply strains are beginning to take effect. This will undoubtedly have a big impact on energy costs as well.

No, I'm not.

Let's just say firearms regulations are VERY strict in the UK. It can be a huge hassle attempting to get a certificate for one.
