The struggle is real!

It’s crazy, they just get away with not answering questions even though they’re supposed to be accountable to the people.

It’s the UK election next month and it drives me insane watching politicians whip up so much anger about things that don’t really matter. The money is fundamentally broken yet nobody talks about it, even if it’s the cause of so many societal issues. This year, instead of raging about pledges and who to vote for, I’m just going to contribute to the #bitcoin and #nostr ecosystems. Those will be the lifeboats for people when the existing system inevitably worsens. #election #politics

Remember that when politicians pledge to keep inflation stable at 2% in the run up to the election, they are pledging that half of your purchasing power will be gone within 35 years. #election #inflation

This is brilliant. From the user’s point of view they experience fast, reliable payments that they’re already familiar with today but both parties also benefit from this being on top of a secure, decentralised monetary network.

Solutions like this cater to so many demographics, wealth brackets and technical capabilities. People can simply opt for the layer that meets their preferences/needs. Can’t imagine my grandparents using Lightning but can with ecash!

Ultimately, they’re incentivised to keep doing more of the same unfortunately. That and the fact that it’s very difficult to see that there’s a better system (#Bitcoin) from the lens of another system. It takes a lot of open-mindedness to get it.

Yep this was me to start with, assuming that Bitcoin was the first one and therefore, subsequent cryptocurrencies would be improvements. Maxis take a lot of criticism but they saved this pleb! 4 years later and now I’m a maxi that tries to help other newcomers 😊

2% (the target) = 35 years

4% = 17 years

7% = 10 years

10% = 7 years

14% = 5 years

17% = 4 years

20% = 3.5 years
