Looks like spam account. Mute and move on. Feels good to hit that mute sometimes.

It’s looking like this was a failure of a rollout from crowdstrike, controlled by them and not administrators. Time to switch vendors for those who had it then.

There are other great options out there to replace Crowdstrike but honestly, they could probably do the same level of bricking. It’s a controls issue. With great power comes great responsibility.

I may be going crazy but I think you can store passkeys in an app file rather than the OS.

For example, I just stored mine in a Keepass file using Strongbox on iOS.

Regarding the key, I assume they just need to add another app for social interaction but I think technically what they have already could be considered a monetary nostr clients.

You’re right though, I would like them to add a social capability in-app.

So someone has a way for me to bind passkeys to a NOSTR login now?! If they have this code downloadable somewhere I may just have to move to a new npub!

This and keepass together may be all I need.

Their wording like it ultimately relies on Android or iOS is weird though. Passkeys are agnostic.

Noob here.

What about NIP41 requires centralization? The announcement of the revocation? If so, could we remove the requirement for announcement?

Could NIP41 suggest generating something like 12000 keys (1 per month for 100 years) instead of the proposed 256 in the NIP? Then everyone rotates on the first of the month if they want to?

Too much processing on onboarding or recovery? Or too much of a pain for each client to download the list of 1200 keys for each of their contacts? If that’s too much then rotate yearly Puts the burden on clients, not relays (except load) or Nostr code. Remain backwards compatible for all existing keys. Clients could choose to care or not about rotated out keys. Clients could say “outdated contact, use caution” etc.

Or just zap profiles which works for everyone’s no need for scripts.

Actually, I’m most excited for negative zaps.

I’ll probably stop using likes then.

I would love for clients to allow me to downvote an idea but still zap for the contribution or have the zaps go to opensats or a prism or something else.

Or surrounded by people you enjoy time with. I find if I’m with a group for a weekend and we are all having good fun we almost never check our phones.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. I disagree that it’s not worth preferring to use the products of those who you agree with and financially supporting (zaps to donos) those who are doing things aligned with your beliefs, whatever they may be. I’m not going to advocate for anyone else to boycott anything, I just don’t want to associate with a message or whoever says it that I don’t believe in. That’s OK.

I don’t think it has got to stop. I’m not marginalizing, I’m choosing.

I’ll still tell everyone I know of that is looking for features Coracle has that Coracle is a great app, I’m just not going to use it if I don’t support the developer. At least before he reproached it.

I don’t think by preferring to support only some products of NOSTR and none of the mainstream apps you mention am I creating an environment where those mainstream apps are having a benefit.

Re - leftist labeling crap. Believe what you want but let me get back to my owned land and property in the United States with my wife and kids where I spend my time aligning with conservative ideals while I celebrate national holidays when I have time to post on social media I typically avoid.

Side note - I too am glad we’re not just talking about Bitcoin.
