As for anthropomorphising it and becoming the arbiter of the desires of a piece of code, in fact not even code, a protocol described in English, is typical of the censorship one thought this project was designed to elude.

So this is another form of Nostr client. The relays can be specific, and dynamic messaging and responding to queries while the client caches results and receives notification.

The messaging and notification by Nostr, Identity by public key, Lightning payment, de rigeur. Plenty of verifiable claims to go around. Anonymity, pseudonymity, polynymity, for all the digital purposes and roles well play.

The problem is this: the more that “safety” means lowering the bar for accusation-bringing, then the more of a magnet the process becomes, and has become, for anyone with an agenda, a grudge, a neurosis, and sometimes financial ambitions—payouts can be huge for a well-timed claim—and there’s no adequate method for sorting legitimate from specious claims (as we’ll see).

‘Respect’, of course is a tricky term. I may respect your gardening by just letting you get on with it. Or, I may respect it by admiring it and regarding it as a superior way to garden. I was dumbstruck. There, in a few pages, I read a startlingly concise summary of everything I’d seen in twenty-one years as a reporter, editor, bureau chief, and columnist for my newspaper. The idea that business, at bottom, is fundamentally human. That engineering remains second-rate without aesthetics. That natural, human conversation is the true language of commerce. That corporations work best when the people on the inside have the fullest contact possible with the people on the outside.
