I guess I'm one of those #vtubers. Having fun talking about general topics, vrchat/similar, and games. Also #indiedev #gamedev. You can call me: Freak فْرِيكٌ フリク (still learning Nihongo). #envtuber #podcast #gaming #gamedev

Hot take:

If you buy a digital game and download it, that's it. You have technically bought and own the game, and developer/store are not necessarily obligated to allow you to download the game again.

Counter to hot take:

Because the game is attached to the store's DRM, meaning that you can't use the files as intended without that store and a connection to their server / needing you to be online, then that means you don't own the game, and as a result

Counter counter:

When you bought a physical copy (disc) of a PC game, even back in the day, if it was attached to Steam with those same requirements, then you didn't own those physical copies as well.

Final thoughts:

Physical (file extraction) or digital (right of one time download, further requires future potential payments), if you buy the game and I can run it without the need of an internet connection, in terms of a singleplayer game, only then do you truly own it. In terms of an online game, it's the same but you don't own the servers they're running so its fine if they go under, however, they should not pursue you legally if you mod the files and make it connect to your own or others' servers.

Kind of annoying that community posts are kind 1 posts (normal short posts) so they're appearing on normal timelines.

I'm assuming there's a tag so that short-post clients can detect and now show them, but they're not adding that filter.

Correct PS Console Comparisons (PS1 to PS5 to PS5 Pro)

Don't care too much about the new PS5 Pro, with people going nuts over the price, and kind of expected considering Sony lost big on Concord. Though it seems like Geoff is gaslighting people comparing previous PS consoles with current drive-less PS5 Pro.

Here's the correct presentation:

Inflation-adjusted prices for PlayStation consoles since launch:

PS1: $611 (1995)

PS2: $546 (2000)

PS3: $778 (2006)

PS4: $538 (2013)

PS4 Pro: $522 (2016)

PS5: $606 (2020)

PS5 (no Disc drive): $485(2020)

PS5 Pro: $800 (2024)

PS5 Pro (no Disc drive): $700 (2024)

Check out https://new.iris.to for a ReplyGuy-free Nostr experience. When logged in, it hides replies from people who are not in your social graph. You can display the hidden messages by clicking on the button underneath.

There's also "Adventure" feed for showing all notes from your social graph:

I have worked on it together with the Nestr "decentralized GitHub" team. Nestr frontend and Iris are built from the same codebase using build configuration options for different branding and features. You can easily extend the configuration to make your own branded version. Source code to be released soon™.

The client is based on NDK. Full SocialGraph up to 2nd degree is downloaded on first login, and thereon only missing follow lists are queried. I'll be experimenting with options to go beyond 2nd degree.

The graph is serialized and saved locally in a compressed format, which is much faster to load than it is to reconstruct the graph from Nostr events. My graph consisting of 260 follow lists and 23000 users is 3 MB on disk.

It's still very much work-in-progress and mostly tested on desktop Brave, but it's already my favorite way to browse Nostr.

I wished, and it was exactly delivered, and incredibly quickly too!

nostr and teams are awesome =3

nostr:npub1mayqdaq0sd5f4uexa6aky3agr982vhqs3rw7qwm6yr9h5zetdg4q4shl50 hey guys, you should push your app (apps?) to nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8 =3

(Also, probably a good idea to add your website in your profile metadata here on nostr)

hm.. how about WoT but not necessarily hide spam fully.

If I post this, replyguy will spam reply to it right? however, in the replies section of this post, in this potential future improvement, you'd see replies of people in your WoT, and there'd be a button or tab to see "all replies" which would show the spam as well.

You'd get notifications from WoT people only.

This isn't a solution, but an improvement on the situation, while also still seeing all posts normally, just less annoying and more organized.

There could also be an extended version of WoT that includes likes, zaps, reposts, bookmarks, or even a new thing like "this is a not a spammer/scammer", all of which would move more people from the chaos replies to the proper replies sections and get notified from said people.

#nostr

Aight, I got up to 10 to 15 years of time to make nostr:npub17jl3ldd6305rnacvwvchx03snauqsg4nz8mruq0emj9thdpglr2sst825x self-sufficient and successful and do the same for a pc games store/client.

I'm thinking it should be called "Mist" x3

Cool. I just setup my nwc from #LifPay with Amethyst, with auto approve on Amber, and zapping is working smoothly =3

Though it does seem like #LifPay lacks NWC manage connections page in the app. Hopefully they add that in (along with autopay subscription).

RTS, TPS, Mechs, and Anime. Commander of Battlefront

I found this game called "Commander of Battlefront" , which is currently up on booth ( https://booth.pm/ja/items/3139629 ). Looks cool and thought to share it.

I don't think its a dead game. You can access its old demo if you purchase it for 500 yen. Based on what's written on the page, the dev plans to release on Steam and others when its done.

oh right, community posts are also kind:1 posts, meaning they appear on normal feeds as well..

I knew about this and reference it in convos every now and then, but never actually watched it. Should watch it soon.

(Also, because of it, I'm really intrigued to play that game because of that result x3)
