I guess I'm one of those #vtubers. Having fun talking about general topics, vrchat/similar, and games. Also #indiedev #gamedev. You can call me: Freak فْرِيكٌ フリク (still learning Nihongo). #envtuber #podcast #gaming #gamedev

Yea pretty much. There's an example service out there with LN and NWC for subscriptions, called Flash, though unfortunately it has a lot of steps to get a payment going, and they're the middle-man with a fee you're trying to get rid of, but it should serve to help as a reference for what you're building. Here's an example subscription page I made for testing purposes a few days ago: https://app.paywithflash.com/subscription-page?flashId=676

(Make your own and see how they're doing it. I'd say there's definitely a lot to improve with their UX / user-journey flow).

Aside from that, you could also look at how traditional sites do things (a popular one being Patreon, I like SubscribeStar from what I remember, and a bunch of people use ko-fi).

(side note: if you'd like, since it would potentially end up with me benefiting from it as well, I'd be more than happy to help with design/ux/user-flows, if you're wanting and willing to accept the help/contribution and talk it over, this or other aspects of it as well).

In terms of what creators want, in one example, where they'd accept recuring donations, they'd most likely want to see each individual subscription they have / by whole (npub and/or LN address) to say thanks to / include them in credits in a post or video.

In another example, where a creator wants the same as above, to also know what package they've subscribed to, so that they'd know what to provide them with what value/benefit (ex: have a conversation with them, or sending them a specific file, etc)

A third / more advanced example, for service-like behavior (this would be me in this case), would be similar to the above, where the npub data is auto extract/read by the client so that it can give it special benefits (client visual representations, access to certain pages, giving discount codes for merch, access to specific features, inviting to be part of a specific chat group, etc)

Creator gist:

A UI to showcase who subscribed to you, and methods of extracting/reading that data.

Aside from that:

Payment/Subscription(auto recuring payments) based on fiat pricing (Ex: $10 per month. Payment would be 16k sats for the first payment, then the next autopayment would be another $10 at more or less than 16k sats depending on its price at the time of invoice/payment).

Looking forward to this / seeing how it'll end up.

I've been looking into options to add subscription packages to nostr:npub17jl3ldd6305rnacvwvchx03snauqsg4nz8mruq0emj9thdpglr2sst825x and manage its data, and since you mentioned you've added NWC and just need an LN address (assumingly using a wallet with NWC support), I'm imagining this would be ideal =3

Looking forward to checking it out when its done / when I get to that stage. Thanks for the great effort <3

GOTY contender at the top that i recently finished playing is Black Myth: Wukong

Gist: Monkeh with a stick

Regarding ecash/nuts, if i send someone zaps to their npub@example.com (that example.com supports ecash) would that info be on relays, and the person I sent it to would have to scan some relays and hopefully find those nuts?

What's the potential of them never finding those nuts?

Perhaps I should make a bunch of free custom sounds for nost clients?

Different tap sounds

Different swipe sounds

Stretch

Popups

Zaps

Any clients out there have a specific action/event they want a sound for? #asknostr

Ya i saw this in nostrudel... not sure what it means x3

wtf? nice!

Yea that's the dream.

Wayfinder did the same thing / re-deved the game to make it work as a sp/coop experience (instead of killing the game because of a publisher fuckup)

yea i'm on the camp of "still suffering with him or just got used to it".

/ on primal

I like what Coracle is doing though with their WoT settings and how they're calculating it.

Finished Black Myth: Wukong.

Fantastic game. Best monkeh game.

Definitely play it with a guide though / check up on key points so you don't lock yourself out of content.

Cons is voice bug, one to two boss bugs, would've preferred if there was more music playing in multiple areas, one boss design wasn't good, couldn't damage a few bosses during states even tho you should've, and story could've been more clear.

For those who care about numbers, i guess 8.5 to 9, not more, because of those above issues.

Worth it / goty contender.

Seeing people realizing they're not in control is always entertaining to watch.

#nostr fixes this

Ye sadly...

Though I'd imagine that connectivity, at least on Tesla as an example, is because of the self-driving part to stream huge machine learning data to the car.

However, considering what's being done where people can self host their AI, yea we're reaching to a point where even self driving cars don't necessarily need to be connected to a server.

Now here's an interesting thought for the future:

Open source electric self-driving cars

Shit will be wild x3

Ok, NOW I understand the value of the Outbox model.

I'm on board now.

Thank you.

The reason why I said what I said was because not many people understand the fairness of digital games, and get confused when comparing disc vs download, thinking that its unfair for them not to download their game again when a store goes under or if they get their license of a game revoked (that last point is a whole different issue I'll post about later).

I think that video helps spread awareness at the start of an understanding of how things work, but it needs something like 2 to 5 more videos to properly encompass this range of topics.

Regardless though, here's my thoughts while watching that video:

- A lot of fluff at the start / very counterable.

- I mean yea, file extractions, backups, and modding/cracking is the way to go.

- Yup, the difference between me downloading a singleplayer .exe game with no DRM and another having a disk with the same files is none. Technically speaking we both have "physical" copy of the game, one is physically in a disc and the other is physically in a hard drive.

- In the context of the above point's game example, you could sell the game disk to someone else, while not necessarily with the hard drive version of the game, you aren't necessarily selling the "Game" but rather selling the "collector's item" thought of it, the actual disk, and the art on top as well as its box if there is one, and the convenience of it, is what you're selling. In cases of DRM roadblocks, the value of the "convenience of it" shoots up dramatically.

- - In terms of transfer, well, that's obviously easier when thinking with the files and not with the physical disc (Ex: a lot of games on itch or GOG)
