Thanks to some analysis from our intern nostr:npub17plqkxhsv66g8quxxc9p5t9mxazzn20m426exqnl8lxnh5a4cdns7jezx0 , according to opt-in AppStore analytics one of the biggest issues with Damus is user retention. 99% of people stop using damus after 6 months.

In the next version we will be looking at ways to get mores users to that “ah ha” moment that gets them to stick around like all of us addicts.

Ideas welcome! Notifications is obviously a big one, but maybe we could make it easier to get people their first sats.

It definitely took me a while to get accustomed. Figured out it was cause I’m used to an algorithm making me at home instantly. Whereas in Damus the universe feed overwhelmed and turned me off for a while. It was only when I finally decided to follow people off of someone else’s follower list that things clicked.

One way to solve this could be to ask people what their interested in, then provide them a selection of popular accounts to follow in that niche before dumping them straight into the universe.

Or a somehow immediately show then people from their contacts that are on nostr.
