Yea I suspect there is more state worship than God worship going on here. Which unfortunately is typical in what passes as Christianity these days. If for no other reason, I cannot see how anyone who call themself a Christian can support the state after the past 3+ years, unless one belongs to a state-cuck 'church' that followed orders in violation of alleged faith. I get the impression you might not a Believer, (which is fine, I am in no place to judge, nor would I anyway, just bear with me for sticking with that line of thought) but there is a saying I have come across recently, 'in order to be a good Christian, one MUST be a bad Roman'. Otherwise, what's the point?

Agreed. My corrolary of that saying is, “To be a good person, one must be a bad patriot”, because any State’s secret #police - #Gestapo, #CIA, #NSA, #KGB, et cetera - is composed exclusively of those most afflicted with the #patriotism disease.

(Thanks to my parents, my diverse education included a Christian private school of one of the major Christian sects in the West. So, I’m familiar with #Jesus, the #Bible and The #Church, even though here in #Asia, his father (aka #Allah 🕋) and #Buddha🪷 are more applicable to our daily life and philosophy.)

That the coins were minted with his likeness is what is meant by "...what is Ceasar's". Its not a endorsement of taxes. Jesus never said to pay them, nor did He ever pay them Himself. And that He never said to NOT pay them, as the other person put forth, is a moot argument. Years back when I first started reading the Bible, it took me no further than halfway through The Book of Matthew to conclude that Jesus was, in His words and deeds, what we would call an anarchist (or voluntaryist if one wants to avoid the baggage of the demonization of anarchism in 'mainstream' thought) today. He stood firm against ALL unjust and corrupt power structures, spoke boldly against them in public, and made no apologies for doing so. He told His disciples to arm themselves for self defense, with a weapon that was illegal under Roman law for civilians. He practiced His ministry in open defiance of Pharissaic law, when He chose, where He chose. I see nothing in His behavior to indicate anything but Him being an anarchist. As for religion, Jesus' ministry was nothing like what Christianity is today, if for no other reason than, as you mentioned, tax breaks (ie a modern 30 Pieces of Silver) for Christianity, Inc. That is seeking Earthly authorization to practice one's religion. 501c3 'churches' are nothing but agents of the stare, which is why the tax exemption can be withdrawn for preaching politics from the pulpit.

I have read it. There is no government in existence today that qualifies. They are murderous and tyrannical, every single one. Were you asleep for covid?
