YMMV but I've heard that moving in and out of BTC liquid can help obscure, at least if you are trying to avoid every casual hacker/tracker in the world.

You know, I did OK. It took a little getting used to. I only made a few contacts on it. I had kids running around to tend to, but it worked well when I was having trouble breaking through pileups on SSB.

Those 1000W "1H" participators really make it hard for 20W on a battery out in the field. Would be nice if there was a way to prioritize traffic to people operating outdoors or in weather.

I just can overstate my diskllike for the so-called "UHF" connector.

It sucks at the thing its named after, probably fine for HF.

Non-constant impedance

Easy to cross thread

Easy to not seat fully

Center pin breaks sometimes and you can't tell

Hard to attach/detach constantly

Bulky and heavy for travelling

Hard to solder because it needs so much heat

I just want to purge it from my shack.

Please help save me. I've fallen into the trap of BNC.

I want to BNC everything and get away from that god awful "UHF" connector so-239/pl-259.

Please tell me why I shouldn't switch completely to bnc.

I can do it on the G90, doesn't look that hard.

My window pass through is all "UHF" connectors, I would have to build a new one.

I can probably switch all my coax over time.

Winter field day is coming this next weekend!

For all you #hams out there. Winter field day is more an exercise than a contest. Operators can setup in harsh conditions and operate in cold weather environments.

For me, its an excuse to take my girls camping and have them play a little radio while we are out.

I have a lot to do to prepare. I just changed the oil on the generator and have it running.

I have a couple new dipole antennas to build, and I need to get my Trusdx prepared for digital modes and practice #js8.

I also have a new stand for my HF vertical antenna which I need to do some setup on.

My G90 will mostly do SSB.

I also have to put together and test my big 2m/70cm antenna for local comms.

Over coffee this morning, I want to talk about value. But not the way everyone seems to talking about value today.

The true measure of bitcoins perception of value is perhaps better represented anyways by number of hodlrs, and how fervent their hodling.

People trading around millions of dollars probably have little concept of what finite supply actually means, because they are used to dealing with a currency which comes fresh off the printer. The closer they are to the printer, the further their perception of reality differs in terms of what scarcity actually means. We will see what happens next. TBH, I'm not hodling for $, I'm hodling out of faith in thermodynamics

Hodling is hard, but so far I am doing it despite the lawsuit. I've bet my net worth. Have you? A brighter tomorrow awaits.

I'll let the price do what it does. How much work can a Satoshi achieve in the market? How much steak does 1 Satoshi buy me? When we know that answer, then perhaps it's time to not hodl so hard.

Politics is "promise of stake”. Whoever has the political capitol decides what happens with the network. It takes AT LEAST 4 years to verify a block on the political timechain in the U.S.

However, It could take as many as 16 years... Until the balance of power has changed, maybe longer. Even still, previous blocks can be modified with enough political capitol.

I trust proof of work on immutible chains. I ride the true timechain, not the politics chain.

Sure, all fine and dandy, but I trust bitcoin, not politicians. Number go up is great, but things are going to play out eventually anyways, whoever weilds the throne. In 4 years when things go hard the other way, we are going to have an attempt to lock things back down, and sell the reserve. Thus is politics. I will ride the wave, not the politicians.

Amazing how I'm still relearning this after so many years in tech.

Here we go.... I imagine there will be an appeal. I'm pretty sure the act is unconstitutional, only because the right to publish software is considered free speech. Apple and Google both are american companies, and enjoy the rights of free speech as "companies are people". I wonder if the act will ever be challenged though through first amendment means. Google and Apple would have to bring it to court as they are the " injured parties".

I'm sure google and apple really don't care either, at least until its used against something they care about. Doubtless some people will celebrate this as a win. I think America lost. But maybe now is the time to examine closer the #zapstore, #fdroid, and other means of getting software than these giant behemoths who want to cozy up with the government to keep their regulatory moat.

TBH, I'm not a fan of TikTok or of ByteDance, and I am very aware of the data they are collecting and the attack on American culture that bytedance is doing... but I am very concerned about the swelling power of the executive branch to violate the bill of rights, and the cost of any litigation to challenge it. Echoes of the red scare here.
