I just got punk'd.

I need to tell you about it.

I know, I know. Plenty of warning signs. I should've known better. I should know the history of music better.

But I was also intrigued. I knew *of* Jim Morrison as the lead singer of The Doors. But I didn't know the specifics of his career and life. I thought I recalled hearing there was a big drugs/alcohol angle to his story. (hint: there was)

I'd never heard him on a podcast before. So when I saw Rick Rubin was hosting him on his podcast Tetragrammaton I tapped "play".

And then I walked around tidying up my workspace listening intently on my Airpods. Morrison talked about growing up in the south and losing his accent, the new film projects he's working on, etc.

After 29 minutes of this I was intrigued to look up Jim Morrison's wikipedia entry only to find out that he died in 1971.

I listened to a half-hour podcast of Rick Rubin interviewing a dead guy.

Ik zou nog wel iets zien in een route via Geyser, daar een project opzetten die funds ophaalt specifiek met als doel om bitcoiners een incentive te geven om merchants te benaderen en educatie te doen.

Klopt Raph, activisme, adoptie en echt iets doen is een raar gegeven.

De community die bier drinkt, leert en af en toe een hapje eet (of op koffie-dates gaat met bedenkelijke vrouwen:) is natuurlijk één ding.

Maar effectief adoptie veroorzaken of iets doen is vooral afhankelijke van je overtuiging en energie, tijd en geld dat je er in wil stoppen.

Mensen hebben daar allerlei redenen voor wrs, en zo blijf je in het verdomhoekje zitten.

Moest je intussen 10 zaken ipv 1 hebben in Antwerpen die bitcoin aanvaardden, dan zou je daar weer mee op kunnen bouwen.

Het effect is voor bitcoiners zelf nauwelijks te zien, omdat ze de normies niet horen die dan zeggen "ik ben eens in XXXX gaan kijken, maar dat restaurant adverteert niet dat ge daar met bitcoin kunt betalen, dus ik twijfelde. ge ziet hé, ge kunt daar niks mee doen met uwen bitcoin, ik heb dat maar verkocht voor eht naar nul gaat ze" (letterlijke conversatie trouwens van iemand uit omgeving.

Adoptie is zo belangrijk, maar ik zie erg weinig tot geen activisme en organisatie.

De sociale kan en de "orange people layer" is wel tof, maar meer ook niet. Daar heb ik me vorig jaar al bij neergelegd, maar ik blijf het melden, tot de volgende generatie het mss overneemt.

Klopt, ieder kan maar zien wzt ze kunnen doen, afhankelijk van skills, tijd en energie.

Ik deel het, omdat ik zelf nul tijd heb ook, en ik veronderstel dat er in de community soms mensen zijn die niet weten met wat ze zouden kunnen helpen.

Technology is a one way street.

First of all : more real-life testing, active maintenance, and have a UI and UX experience that informs people / users.

For example: if a new user tries to create a multi-sig, don't act like they know everything.

A "normal" and "advanced" mode is necessary, most of this software is simple not usable enough.

(same counts for Green wallet btw, where you can't even get a full list of the addresses, and some BIP39 compatibility in edge cases is broken.

And for Satoshi's sake: test and iterate stuff.

The current software is of course lightyears better than what we had in 2015 for example, but still, it sux in my opinion.

I'm a software tester / QA myself... I might be ultra biased 😉
